One of the coolest things about dog training is the relationships that are built along the way.

Today I am feeling so appreciative of all of the students that have come through my classroom, and especially for the families that I have gotten to work with multiple times.

It is always so fun getting to check in with past clients and to help in their new season of life. Our dogs can develop new struggles when there are babies born, when kids go off to college, when there is a move to a new neighborhood, or my favorite - when they add a puppy to the family!

I love what I do. 💜🐾

Does your dog lack an understanding of personal space?

While entertaining in the moment, this behavior can cause bigger issues depending on your dog’s personality!

If your dog doesn’t respect your space, then most likely they do not see you as the Pack Leader.

Simply send them away if they are entering your personal bubble without being invited. Allow them to find another activity and then when you are ready, ask them to come and join you for some cuddles.

Taking ownership of your space will send a strong message that you’re in control.

Go claim your bubbles! 🐾

Does your dog go crazy when you leave or return to the house?

If you answered yes, think about what you are saying and doing during these times. Often we are amping our dogs up by talking to them or including them in our routines.

Instead, try to make separations a non-event for your dog! Ignore them completely as you head out the door and when you get home.

Allow them to move around you and watch for the moment they start to calm down - and then wait 5 more minutes before you engage!

This will help bring peace to your comings and goings 💜🐾

If you haven’t treated for fleas lately, I HIGHLY suggest it!! All furry family members should be included.

The bugs are gonna be nastier than usual because the flea season never stopped from last year!

Chat with your vet if you want to go the chewable route or pick up some topical treatment from your local pet store or online shop. There are some good collars out there now too! Then be consistent, it can be a long road once they’re in your home!

Good luck in the fight against the bugs!! 🦟

There is something new on the horizon!

One of the most important parts of being a dog parent is that we also have to be strong Pack Leaders. I think a lot of us adopt a dog looking for a soft cuddly creature to love and dote on. Unfortunately, that's not how canine Pack Leaders typically act! This often confuses our dogs or makes them feel like they have to step into that leader position, which can cause bad behaviors to spill over.

"But how do I show my dog that I'm the Pack Leader?" Turns out, it's pretty easy!!

I am currently putting together a new program around 5 simple behaviors you can add into your daily routines that will change your life!

Interested?? Shoot me a PM and I will put you on the email wait list for all of the details once it is ready to go!
