Today marked the end of a chapter with the departure of my last goat. As I've aged I have to admit that I'm slowing down and needed to reduce the workload. My love of nubians has persisted since childhood so the decision to part with them was a difficult one. The fact that my animals truly liked their new owners was comforting. Now I'm left to adapt to my easier and certainly quieter new reality.

Sugar blessed us with another heifer Monday. Could she be any cuter?!!

The wait is over! And delivery occurred at 4 in the afternoon on an 80 degree day. Just can't ask for better. And... It's a heifer! Yay!!! 😁

Besides preparing for 4 does to kid starting next week, we're also on baby watch for one of our zebu heifers, Sugar, who is all of 34 inches tall. Cameras going up today...

They continue to grow like weeds. Starting to make short trips out of the nest box and are nibbling on pellets. So sweet at this age.

May 2023 Nubian buck. A.I. Son of Alize Kharm Personified out of line bred My Enchanted Acres and Iron Owl bred dam. This guy is long and leggy with a beautifully blended front, long neck, excellent topline and great breed character. The dam line is known for high, wide attachment, strong medial and will to milk. AQUAGOAT?!! The first time I saw this I couldn't believe my eyes. It seems that Princess has developed a taste for aquatic plants. She just wades into the water without hesitation and cheerfully munches away. Sometimes only her head shows above the water! When she's had enough, she wades back to dry land and scampers off to join her herd mates. No surprise, none of them have offered to join her!
