A new week, another meaningful milestone, and a look ahead for Artemis House. 💜
Our home base renovations are complete, and our final Georgia Department of Agriculture inspection is scheduled! We’re working toward welcoming our first few dogs in January 2027, with licensing and operational readiness guiding when we begin.
While we await the outcome, we’re working full-time to prepare the systems, processes, plans, and relationships that need to be in place before we can safely and responsibly welcome our first dogs.
An essential part of that preparation is building the community that will help us care for them.
We’ve updated our website to share our progress, what comes next, and the approach at the heart of Artemis House: helping dogs experience a felt sense of safety through compassionate, force-free care, while supporting the people beside them.
You’ll also find newly added information about fostering and volunteering. We’ll share more about both in upcoming posts.
I’ve poured so much of my heart into bringing Artemis House this far. To bring it fully to life, I need people who want to be part of it. Whether you have a safe home, time, a skill, or a connection to share, you could help make those first welcomes possible.
To everyone who has supported us, cheered us on, and followed along: thank you. Your encouragement means so much as Artemis House really begins to take shape.
Explore our updated website, and please share it with anyone who might want to join us on this journey to transforming lives.

One step at a time, together, we’re preparing safe places for dogs who need us.
A Place to Heal. A Home to Belong.
Artemis House is a force-free, foster-based dog rescue in North Georgia helping vulnerable dogs feel safe enough to heal and come home— first to themselves, then to the people who will love them for life.
