🐾 Topanga & Winnie’s Visit 🐾

Topanga and Winnie recently came in to see Dr. Marshall to start their Lyme vaccine series—great job staying ahead of tick-borne disease! 👏

Did you know that 1 in 6 dogs in West Virginia will test positive for Lyme disease? That’s a big risk for our furry friends, especially during tick season.

Lyme disease can cause:
• Fever
• Joint pain/lameness
• Lethargy
• Loss of appetite

The good news? Prevention is simple with vaccination and routine tick prevention.

🐾⛈️ Thunderstorms & Your Pets: What You Should Know ⛈️🐾

Storms can be more than just loud noises for our furry friends—they can be a source of real fear and anxiety. Many pets experience stress during thunderstorms due to the booming thunder and flashes of lightning.

Common signs of storm anxiety include:
• Hiding or trying to escape
• Pacing or restlessness
• Excessive panting or drooling
• Whining, barking, or destructive behavior
• Clinginess or seeking constant comfort

How you can help:
✔ Create a safe, cozy space (like a crate or quiet room)
✔ Close windows and curtains to reduce noise and flashes
✔ Turn on a TV or white noise for distraction
✔ Stay calm—your pet looks to you for reassurance
✔ Consider calming products or talk to us about anti-anxiety options

Remember, every pet handles storms differently. If your pet struggles during thunderstorms, we’re here to help you find the best solution to keep them safe and comfortable. 💙🐶🐱
