May is an exceptionally emotional month for me because it’s the month of Fernie. We celebrate his birthday on Cinco de Mayo, he crossed the rainbow bridge on 5/16/2023, and he became a part of our family on 5/25/2018.

Losing him three years ago still sits heavy on my chest. I find myself standing under the Dogwood tree in the backyard where we said our final goodbyes, frozen with grief and gratitude, thinking about the profound impact he’s had on my life. Existing without him glued to my side has given me the time and space to fall in love with animal rescue. I will spend the rest of my days honoring his memory, showering each and every dog with the same patience and unconditional love he showed me daily.

Happy Gotcha Day, Fernando 🤍 I miss you always.

Well, this was certainly not on my bingo card! DOGS ARE NOT DISPOSABLE!!!

Spent the afternoon getting these 3 precious girls to safety. Tonight, they are sleeping in warm beds with full bellies after an exceptionally stressful day.

There exists a special place in my heart for the little boy chihuahuas 💙🩵

Tater & Ollie were dumped behind a local trailer park back in October. After several pleas for help on social media, I decided to drive over to see if I could trap them. A Good Samaritan picked up Ollie and took him to BVSPCA, but Tater was still on the run. I spent hours laying on the ground tossing treats to Tater until he finally trusted me enough to leash him. BVSPCA agreed to release Ollie to House Of Hope Animal Rescue Inc. following his 72 hour stray hold so the brothers could be reunited and find a home together.

Over the weekend, Finn and I took a roadtrip to visit them! They are healthy, happy, and absolutely thriving. I’m incredibly grateful to Tater & Ollie’s parents for giving them the life they deserve!
