Rico's girlfriend Ricotta is doing amazing at the rescue. She and Rico are best buds and play all day long.
They each have different personalities. Ricotta loves to run on her wheel and play with toys. Rico doesn't run on the wheel at all and he's more laid back.
We have gotten 3 requests to take in coatis in the past 6 months and its clear it's going to be an ongoing issue as long as pet stores sell these extremely hard to care for and unpredictable exotic animals.
If you are a zoo or a reputable sanctuary, please message us if you'd be interested in working with us in placing a coatimundi. We cannot refer coati surrenders to private adopters at this time for liability and legal reasons.

Lets talk about guinea pig nails!

Please make sure to pay attention to your guinea pigs feet.

We've gotten several guinea pigs from separate households that have extremely long nails.

Many times people are afraid to cut the nails as they dont want to hurt the guinea pig, but I can assure its not as tricky as you may think.

The daily pain of overgrown nails is something no little critter should endure. If you need assistance with this we would be happy to help. Message us any time and we would be happy to show you.

And there they are! An accidental litter of baby rats.

One thing I know for certain- if you put male and female rodents into a cage together, they WILL have babies.

Also lets talk about something.... pet stores constantly mixing up male and female rats.

Uh.... I genuinely don't know how thats possible. I'm going to be frank here. Male rats have ginormous testicles, even from a young age of only a month old. Female rats obviously do not.

If you truly feel the need to buy a pet store rat please please please double check. But this is just one of the reasons to rescue- we wont do you dirty like this. And now we have 11 new lives to look after.
