I never loved the “why I started this” posts… but this one matters.
It started with my dogs.
Finnley and Cannon both have sensitive stomachs, and over the years I kept running into the same problem — treats that looked fine but didn’t sit well with them. Finnley especially would end up with ear infections, and ingredients absolutely play a role in that.
And then there’s Daisy — my scrappy girl with a stomach of steel, just happy to be here and taste-test everything I make.
So I wanted something simple. Clean. Ingredients I could trust.
But if I’m being honest, it was also about me.
I wanted something that was mine. Something I could build from the ground up, make every decision on, and be hands-on with every single step.
And then life layered in — my mom’s surgery, needing flexibility, still showing up as a parent, a wife, a daughter… all of it.
This gave me that space.
Something steady. Something simple. Something that makes tails wag and feels good to create.
That’s really what Anchor & Bone is.
