Eagle River Dog Training Center

Eagle River Dog Training Center My name is Heide, I started at Eagle River Animal Hospital in 2019 working as a Veterinary Assistant. I share my home with three pups, Venus, Zeus and Scout.

I live in Eagle River with my husband, Jason, and three kids, Christopher, Addy, and Ava Jo. In my spare time, I love to conquer fitness goals and I have completed an ultramarathon. While working at Eagle River Animal Hospital, I learned many things. Animal behavior was something I wanted to learn more about. My love for animal behavior and training began when I rescued a puppy that I named Zeus.

Zeus had severe injuries and needed daily bandage changes. When I started working with Zeus, we had an instant connection. That relationship inspired me to help others to find that connection with their pets and in 2020 I started a training program with “Pawsitively Unleashed”, a dog training business in central Wisconsin. I cannot wait to continue to grow and learn as a dog trainer and help owners find their pets’ purpose and create a strong pet & owner connection.

🚨 HEIDE IS OUT OF THE OFFICE! 🚨

That’s right, folks… we are giving Heide a BREAK this week! 🙌🏼☕️🏔️

If you know Heide, you know she is constantly going a million miles an hour and is extremely busy in all aspects of her life. This week, she is taking some much-needed time to relax, unwind, recharge, and enjoy herself! ❤️

That said, HD will still be in the office Tuesday–Thursday to help with:
• Answering general questions and concerns
• Taking payments
• Renting out our facility space
• Answering general training questions

For training-related questions that require Heide specifically, if HD doesn’t have the answer, those questions will simply need to wait until Heide returns. We promise Heide will get back to you! 😊

📱 A VERY IMPORTANT REMINDER:
If you message our page and don’t get a response from Heide, please do NOT go to her personal page and message her there. We know you’re excited about training (and we love that!), but we need everyone to use the appropriate avenues when contacting the business.

You can always:
📞 Call our business phone
📧 Send us an email
💬 Text us through our business texting app

We will do our best to respond within 24 hours when the question is something we are able to answer.

And finally, if you have a question that can be answered during your class, WRITE IT DOWN and bring it with you! 📝 We will absolutely make time during each class to answer your questions and make sure you get the information you need.

Heide will be back soon, refreshed and ready to get back to work! 😉❤️

Thank you all for respecting her time away and helping us give her the break she deserves! 🥰

🐾🎒 HAPPY FIRST DAY OF DOG SCHOOL! 🎒🐾

Today’s the day—the doors are open wide,
For new pups and old friends to come inside! 🐶❤️
Some are starting school for the very first time,
While others are back and ready to shine!

New faces will join us, with tails wagging high,
And familiar faces will be stopping by!
Some pups may be nervous, some excited to play,
And some may wonder, “What are we doing today?” 😂

We’ll practice our manners, our focus, and more,
Just like we’ve done many times before.
For returning students, it’s time to build on what you know,
And for our new students, it’s the start of watching your teamwork grow!

There’ll be treats, there’ll be learning, and plenty of fun,
And maybe a few zoomies before class is done! 🐕💨
Remember, perfection isn’t what school is about—
It’s learning together and figuring things out!

So whether you’re brand new or returning once more,
We’re so excited to see you walk through our door! 🐾
Bring your treats, your leash, and your best happy face,
And let’s make this a PAW-some first day in class!

🎓🐶 Welcome back, returning students!
🎓🐾 Welcome to class, new students!

Here’s to another year of learning, growing,
building confidence, and strengthening the bond
between you and your best friend. ❤️🐾

🦌 YOUR DOG LOVES TO SNIFF EVERYTHING… SO WHY NOT GIVE THAT NOSE A JOB?

Want to teach your dog how to use their incredible nose to search for a specific scent?

Scent Work isn't just about finding odor in boxes! It can help build the foundation for skills that can be used for shed hunting, tracking, scent discrimination, confidence building, mental enrichment and more.

And the best part? Your dog gets to do what dogs naturally love to do—USE THEIR NOSE!

🐾 No previous scent-work experience needed.

🎓 SIX WEEKS — COMPLETE! 🎓

WOW, WOW, WOW! What a session it has been! 🐾❤️

We have officially wrapped up all of our classes from the last six-week session, and I couldn’t be more proud of all the dogs and their people!

This session brought SO many new pups and new clients through the training center, making this one of the biggest summers we’ve had yet! Watching your dogs learn, grow, gain confidence, and build that bond with you is truly one of my favorite parts of what I do.

A HUGE thank you to every single one of you for trusting me with your dogs and all of your training needs. It means more than you know! ❤️

And of course, a massive THANK YOU to HD, who spends countless hours on the computer and on the phone making sure schedules are organized, classes are filled, and everyone gets a spot. I truly couldn’t do it without you!

We only have a couple of spots left for the next session! If you’ve been thinking about getting your dog into training, I would call ASAP because these spots won’t last long!

🐾 Thank you for another incredible session!
I can’t wait to see what the next six weeks bring! ❤️

This boy was absolutely terrified to go out in public yesterday. He would jump at the sight of a leaf! 🍂

So yesterday, we explored as much as we could without completely shutting him down. We gave him the opportunity to experience new sights, sounds, people, and surroundings while still keeping him comfortable enough to learn.

And this morning? A whole different story. 🥹

Finn was happy to be out in town, taking everything in and confidently sitting in every situation I asked him to sit in.

This is why I believe so strongly in creating experiences for our dogs. Socialization isn’t just throwing them into a busy environment—it’s giving them positive, manageable experiences and allowing their confidence to grow.

This was SO much fun this morning with Finn! I’m so proud of this boy. ❤️🐾
