Please reach out and message me so we can discuss their needs, so you don't stress! Literally, it was neighbor helping neighbor! I have lived in the foothills of Duvall since 2009 after relocating from Mill Creek due to the 2008 recession and its damaging toll on the engineering firm I had worked for (we lost half our staff including my position). As I am one that quickly adapts to change (in this
case, the economy), I went from Nordstrom’s high heels to Red Wing work boots and became a “Jill of many trades”! I spent a couple of seasons as a log splitter, traveling between Duvall, Monroe, Redmond and Bellevue. I entered a truck driving school and completed the commercial driver course. I drove a semi through every state except Hawaii and Alaska. I also took time to travel and visited Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, South America, Loa, Thailand and Cambodia. I fell so much in love with Cambodia that I returned to Siem Reap on October 2016 as volunteer school teacher and a caregiver for an elderly bedbound friend, Kim. When my work was completed in Cambodia (Kim’s youngest son took over her care), I returned home and with great sadness, I needed to say goodbye to my very mature black lab after he waited so patiently for me to be back with him. We loved and cared for each other for almost 16 years. He was and will always be, my best friend and I miss him terribly. I was left with such an empty gap at his passing. So, here I am trying to decide what my next financial step would be when a neighbor asked me if I was free to care for her furbabies while she was out of town for a week. No hesitation needed. I jumped at the opportunity! It wasn’t long after that another neighbor asked if I could check in on his chickens, then another neighbor asked if I could homestead stay to provide care for her horses, dogs and cats. Well, as you can now imagine, I found my calling and now that empty gap is filled with wet kisses, bum rubs and belly scratches for all kinds of critters, large and small. And now you know my story! Also, on March 24, 2019, I received my Animal First Aid/CPR Certification!
