Under the sea? Nope! Available for adoption and located in NC!

When 8-year-old Dax isn’t pretending to be a sea turtle, he enjoys spending time with his people, getting an early start to the day, and starting an occasional game of chase with his little foster brother. However, he must confess that he wouldn’t mind being an only dog, or a sibling to a more mature, low key dog where his confidence and personality is able to shine!

He is crate trained and enjoys his alone time, but he prefers it when his humans are still at home with him. When his humans leave the house to go to work, the grocery store, or anywhere else he gets sad and wants to make sure everyone knows how much he misses them with his howling songs of love.

Dax also spends his spare time as a fence security tester. Have a gap in the fence of your yard? He’s found it and made his way through it to the other side before you even know it. He will do best with a secure fence that is able to pass his very thorough, multi-point test, or walks on a leash so he doesn’t feel the need to point out all of your fence’s weaknesses.

Cosmo is on the smaller size compared to other shepherds, and will probably be about 60 lbs when fully grown. This compact canine has the brains and trainability of a shepherd and LOVES all people. He is a happy, snuggly, and easy going boy who is looking for his fur-ever family. He will need another dog in the home to be his friend, and a fenced yard. Could Cosmo be your destiny??

Ricky is a guy who knows what he likes, and what he likes best is the company of other dogs. This 11-month-old boy does wonderfully with canine friends and is looking for a confident companion dog to show him the ropes and share his days. With people, he is still finding his way. Ricky is not a pup who asks for cuddles or fusses for attention, and he would rather you give him his space than reach in for affection he has not invited. That is simply who he is right now, and the right family will respect it and let trust build on his terms.

What Ricky truly loves is a good leash walk, and he comes alive with a purpose and a path ahead of him. He needs a securely fenced yard where he can move freely and feel safe, and a breed experienced family who understands a German Shepherd's mind and can read what he is telling them. Ricky is not looking to be the center of attention. He is looking for a steady, knowledgeable home that values him exactly as he is, a loyal canine friend at his side, and the quiet kind of bond that is earned rather than rushed. For the right person, that bond will be worth every bit of patience it takes.

🍀 FIND A PENNY, PICK HER UP! 🍀

They say finding a penny brings good luck, but we think finding THIS Penny would be like striking gold! Penny is a beautiful young German Shepherd who came to us under difficult circumstances. Even with everything she's been through, she's remained incredibly sweet, affectionate, and devoted to people. She's a real trooper who just wants to be close to her humans.

A shy little German Shepherd puppy arrives, barely making a peep. She's quiet. She's reserved. She's taking it all in.

Fast-forward a few weeks, and suddenly she's running the place!

Meet **SOPHIA**, one of GSRA's Golden Girls! 💛

Just like her television namesake, Sophia Petrillo, this little lady has discovered that life is better when you speak your mind, show a little attitude, and keep everybody guessing.

At just five months old, Sophia is playful, spirited, and growing more confident every day. She likes other dogs, enjoys people, and has a whole lifetime of adventures ahead of her.

Now all she needs is her very own Golden Girls-style happy ending in NC, SC or VA.
