Can you find all 3 dogs?

I love my 2023 Wenonah MNII, custom with wood inwales and no float tanks, portage yoke, and carbon fiber seats 32 lbs. She's getting a handful of scratches on her hull but we're wet footers. I swear half of them are from single portaging.

A BWCAW trip isn't the same without dogs. I once took 4 dogs into Tuscarora solo for 7 days. They needed 5 gallons of dog food portaged.

How many dogs can you fit in a canoe?

Keep an open mind and you might learn something new. Sometimes we can learn together by getting outside, training our dogs, and sharing what we know.

When was the last time you picked up the phone and talked for 2, 3, or 4 hours about sled dogs with your peers? When was the last time you expanded your network and learned from someone with a completely different experience?

Unfortunately, for the newer generations who were born with the internet, not all sled dog training information is online.

We've been educators in several sports at the Elite National and International level since 1997, and our extensive résumé speaks for itself. Do we know everything about sled dogs? Nope. Are we willing to improve and learn something new? Absolutely.

We improve every day, every week, every month, every year, and every decade—at our own pace.

We believe every sled dog has a specific job, and it's the musher's job to find that fit.

There isn't a single musher in the world who can master every type of mushing, every breed, every bloodline, and every training philosophy. There simply isn't enough time. History has proven that this sport is constantly evolving.

That's why keeping an open mind matters.

Because if you're not the lead dog, the scenery never changes. 🐾

All of our sled dogs have very dense winter coats, and they are also acclimatized to cold weather. Some of our dogs will actually overheat while running at 35°F because of their dense coats and muscular build. Muscle generates a significant amount of heat during exercise.

Because they live outside full-time, they can also develop thicker, more weather-resistant coats than domestic animals that live primarily indoors. These cold-adapted traits are also influenced by genetics, with generations of selective breeding favoring dogs that perform well in harsh northern climates.

☀️🐕 FUN FACT: Your sled dogs don't need to live in a cave.

There’s a common idea that an outdoor kennel should be kept in constant shade. But sunlight actually has some benefits that are easy to overlook.

Direct sunlight can help dry kennel surfaces, reduce moisture, warm the ground and naturally expose surfaces to UV radiation, which can inhibit some microorganisms. It isn't a substitute for cleaning or disinfecting—but nature does have a pretty decent sanitation department. 😂

The key isn't all sun or all shade.

A good sled-dog kennel provides both.

☀️ Sun when they want it.
🌲 Shade when they want it.
💨 Airflow.
💧 Good drainage.
🐕 And enough space for the dogs to choose where they're comfortable.

Our dogs don't need to be raised in a permanently shaded bunker. They're working dogs that spend their lives outdoors—and giving them environmental choices is far more important than eliminating sunlight altogether.

Apparently, the dogs were never consulted about the "everything must be shaded" rule. 😂

At least 2 mice have moved into the ceiling and started making a nest and chewing on the wires. All of the trailer lights still work for now but I'm unsure where all of these dang sunflower seeds came from?

I really don't want to tear everything apart including the walls just to get rid of the mice. Hopefully there not a hole near the wheel well or something I need to find out how they're getting in and out.
