Fun day so far
Track #1 was a gut shot deer from last night hunter was concerned and wanted to play it safe. Turns out the deer was only 50 yards from last blood. They would have found it if they continued looking. My price reflects that, if you’re in my radius cover my gas and I’m on to the next one.
Track #2 was shot this morning and the hunter didn’t get a pass through, said it was right behind the shoulder quartering away slightly. My thoughts going in were possible one lung, or this one will be a quick recovery. Ended up being a liver lung that went just over a mile.
This season I have been really trying to be a better handler by reading my dog, but to be completely honest, I just have a dog that enjoys finding dead deer and am along for the ride. I’ve see him run a 48 hr old track just like he would a 4 hour old track. Too many variables for me to understand him, I just trust him. My job is to keep him fed, hydrated and safe.
