We’re looking for a groomer who can come to Pattie’s Waggin’ Tails Senior Sanctuary in Tunkhannock once a month for nail trims and grooming touch-ups.

We have plenty of paws needing attention, from tiny dogs to our bigger seniors. Someone patient and comfortable working with senior dogs would be a wonderful fit.

We already use several wonderful groomers, but transporting dogs and managing travel and wait times limits how many we can take out for appointments. Having someone come to the sanctuary would be a tremendous help.

Some people go above and beyond for dogs. Julie Cohen is one of them. 🐾💛

Julie runs Paw Paw Canine Rescue and Recovery, a small rescue in Pennsylvania that gives dogs who struggle in shelters—or have been considered “unadoptable”—the time, training and care they need for a fresh start.

In May, Julie and her trainer, Amanda, joined us for a SNiP day, seeing our work firsthand and catching up with some of the dogs we’ve helped. Since then, she has generously supported our spay and neuter efforts with donations, helping us reach more dogs and families across Turks & Caicos.

Her kindness goes well beyond financial support. Julie volunteers with Potcake Place K9 Rescue when she’s on island and helps dogs travel to their new lives in the USA.

Julie, thank you for your generosity, your willingness to roll up your sleeves, and the heart you bring to everything you do. You’re all about the dogs—and we’re so grateful to have you in SNiP’s corner. 🐶

FRANKIE NEEDS A HOME! 💔

Frankie is NOT doing well int he shelter environment. She needs OUT! She is very stressed and needs an adopter who will properly exercise her. She is very eager to learn, exercise, and find a family that understands her. She is a phenomenal dog, all she needs is the perfect family who has experience with high strung dogs or is looking to work with a dog like Frankie. At the moment, the shelter stress is causing her to develop issues towards other dogs. She has done better with large males, but may do best as the only animal in her home at this time.

Frankie is a 1 year old mixed breed, we believe she is a Malinois mix. She came to us as a stray and was never claimed. She shows clear signs of being a neglected puppy, as she arrived with 0 manners and a lot of pent up energy. She is working hard on learning right from wrong and is incredibly motivated. The shelter environment is very hard on her because of her energy level. She desperately needs out, she is beyond stressed here.

This girl is a social butterfly. She is always ready to go, is always excited, and is eager to learn. She is very smart, already knowing many commands. She is not a huge fan of the crate, but does clam down and behaves herself once she is in it. She needs a family that will properly exercise her and continue to work on her training, she has so much potential to blossom into the absolute BEST adult! She needs some work on her leash manners, but is working hard to improve in this area. She is a bundle of love and energy. She is beyond loyal to her people and wants to be told what to do next.

❤️🙏 As much as I miss seeing and working with this lug who loved putting himself "center" and doing anything I asked for a scrap of treat dust I am 10x happier that he has a home and family that will love him as all of us at the shelter did. Congrats! 🐾🦴

Johnny, you didn't just leave paw prints on our hearts…you left your mark on EVERY SINGLE PERSON who had the pleasure of meeting you! From your larger-than-life personality to your big, goofy antics and that famously MOUTHY attitude of yours, you made sure nobody would EVER forget Johnny Boy!😂❤️

But the BEST part of your story? You never have to wonder if you're loved again. Because you've got yourself one HECK of a Dad who loves every single bit of you—including ALL that mouthy glory!🤣❤️
