🚨 EMERGENCY RESCUE- DOG COVERED IN BLOOD AND NEUROLOGIC- RUSHED TO ER AND CLINGING TO LIFE 🚨💔
Yesterday, a neighbor came to our shelter asking for help for his dog. He told us she was having “tremors and some blood” and was willing to surrender her so she could receive medical care. Before deciding whether she needed our regular veterinarian or the ER, we asked him to send photos.
The images that came through were shocking. When we arrived, the situation was even worse. She was lying on her side, unable to stand, actively convulsing with severe neurological symptoms. We honestly weren’t sure she would survive the drive to the emergency hospital.
Thankfully, she did.
We’re calling her Norma.
The owner told us this had only started the night before, but Norma’s condition tells a different story. She’s heartbreakingly thin, has severe urine burns on her legs, and has continued to suffer multiple seizures both on the way to the ER and after arriving.
Right now, the veterinary team is working to stabilize her while trying to determine the cause. It could be toxin exposure, distemper, or another serious neurological disease. We simply don’t know yet.
Despite everything, you can still see the sweetness in her eyes. There is a beautiful dog in there fighting to make it through this.
Norma is facing a long and expensive road ahead, and we’re asking our community to help. If you’re able, please consider making a donation toward her emergency care. We’re also searching for a dedicated medical foster who could take over her recovery if she’s stable enough to leave the hospital.
Please keep Norma in your thoughts and share her story. We’re doing everything we can to give her a chance at the life she deserves. 🖤🐾
