Detroit, it takes a village to set a table. Shout-out to the partners standing up the Oakland Avenue Chef Listening Tables with us: Oakland Avenue Urban Farm, The Detroit Food Policy Council, Feedom Freedom, Cadillac Urban Gardens and Beaverland Farms.

First up: the Selling Table, Mon Nov 2, 3-5 pm. For caterers, food trucks, pop-ups and restaurant cooks. A free meal, two hours of listening, about 12 seats, by invitation.

It’s finally that time!!! The ginger harvest is like a small holiday around here. It is a favorite to grow, harvest, and eat!

I know what you’re thinking: ginger grown in Michigan?!

This special crop is available through our partner Del Bene Produce, at the Beaverland Farm’s farm stand, and for special order. (Of course, CSA customers will get some too!)

Fresh ginger is a different story entirely from its cured counterpart:
- No tough skin, which means it doesn’t peeling!
- It is very tender, juicy, and has a sweet fiery flavor, without the fibrous bitterness of cured ginger.
- While it has a shorter shelf life, you can cure or freeze it whole to be used as needed
- We think it’s much cuter?!

Ginger is one of those crops that 99% of the time is coming from thousands of miles away. This is a chance to use locally, certified naturally grown Ginger from the west side of Detroit.

Come visit us at the farm stand this weekend or hit us to place an order for all your baking, pickling, or cooking needs!

Join us every Friday in October for coworking - bring your laptop or just bring yourself. Get a coffee from COMSA USA and enjoy plant-based grab & go meals from Sol & Roots. The rooftop deck is waiting for you.

Our final Mindful Morning of the year is on Saturday 10/24. Make art, move your body, nourish with farm-to-table eats by BIRDIE and warm up with a tea or tarot reading by TravelingTeahouseApothecary.

The farm stand is open through the end of October! Stop by and pick up farm fresh veggies for your favorite fall meals.

It's already mid-August and the farm stand is overflowing!

We're open Fridays from 11 am - 7 pm (join us every Friday for coworking or just grab some veggies and hang out!).
