Happy Graduation Day to Hazel! 🐾

Hazel gets startled by noises and does not particularly like people outside of her trusted circle when she’s out and about!

Through training she is learning that her amazing Mom has her back and that she doesn’t have to worry about things that previously stressed her out!!

You saw the loose leash walking…now here’s practice with a structured walk (Heel)! Heel is *great* for high distraction areas and is also very effective for dealing with reactivity.

During a Heel, the dog’s ONLY job is to walk with and next to you! We aren’t worried about smells, people, other dogs, etc.

You are just moving and working together!

🐾 Loose Leash Walking 🐾 (instead of a structured Heel walk) is an excellent way to allow your pup freedom to sniff and explore - but there are rules to make it enjoyable and safe!!

The #1 rule:

✅ NO pulling!!!

Bear is a 4 year old (previously mama) dog that just found her forever home a few weeks ago 🥰 🐾

She is adjusting well to her great new home but has fear around new people.

✨THIS✨ is what calm and confident leadership looks like!!!! 👏 👏 Arms are down and relaxed, keeping a consistent pace - he does not stop or slow down when Sora got a little distracted and turned around.

Notice that there is NO tension on the leash when Sora is in that nice Heel Pocket.

This is a proper Loose Leash Walk. If your leash doesn’t look relaxed like this during your casual walk - there’s some work to do!!

Walking should be a pleasant and rewarding experience for dog parents and dogs!

Whiskey will be doing group obedience training with 4 of his dog family members!

Whiskey's whole family gets together every weekend. With all the dogs, 3 kiddos, and 7 adults in one space things can of course get a little chaotic sometimes! Group obedience is wonderful for multi-dog, multi-home families like Whiskey's wonderful family. 🏘

His and his dog family members' obedience training journey will be a great one and we are so excited to see their progress!
