Nicole De Laurentis, located in WA/CA, is a classically taught French dressage trainer who implements aspects of the German training scale in her riding and training. She incorporates different methods and techniques of training from various trainers she has worked with, predominately Dr. Gerd Heuschman and Grand Prix dressage rider Natasha Althoff-Kelly. Nicole coaches her students using DNI (dyn

amic-neuro imagery). Nicole is the only Franklin Method instructor in CA and WA. Nicole focuses on the equestrian and equine biomechanics throughout her programs. Nicole implements Equi-Bands for the rider, as well as FME balls, body wraps, and weights during sessions. These tools help to create and maintain a productive seat while increasing stability and strength. Throughout her career she has worked most commonly with Friesians, Dutch/Swedish Warmbloods, and OTTBs. Nicole is available to instruct dressage, western dressage, driving and foundation work for the young horse or OTTB. She frequently travels to teach lessons/clinics to a variety of riders and equines throughout the state.

- Franklin Method Fundamentals -

Dynamic Neurocognitive Imagery (DNI):
A science-based cocktail of body mind tools involving mental images, touch, proprioception, motivation, efficiency training and functional movement. It aims to affect change and improvement in movement, health and performance.

DNI ll: Bone Rhythms:
The main aspect of DNI is anatomical/biomechanical Imagery; an example is how we look at the bones naturally move and synchronize their movement three-dimensionally inside the body to produce safe and efficient movement. This sets the stage for key functional aspects such as dynamic alignment, ideal force production/ absorption and overall optimal function.

Functional Fundamentals:
Our basic functions: Daily movement, walking, breathing, standing, sitting, thinking, resting. The things we do the most are obviously our fundamental training, and performing them well sets the stage for everything else we do.

Pedagogy of Embodiment:
A student-centered, learning by doing, process-oriented, pedagogical style that puts your own experience in the driver’s seat, while you learn on your own, from fellow classmates and the group as a whole.
