Who We Are! The Sliding K has been active in the reining horse industry for over 30 years. We strongly believe in giving our two year olds a solid foundation on which to start their reining careers. We take the extra time to ensure our young stars are started quietly and correctly before they move into the demanding training program required for a reiners, ropers or whatever their next career choice is. Throughout the years, we have been privileged to build many fine teams of riders and horses. We take special care and personal interest in assisting our amateur and non-pro riders with finding the best non-pro prospects available that match the abilities and needs of both the horse and the rider. Many of our customers have been with us since we first started training reiners more than a decade ago. We do a honest job of finding you the right horse to fit you if you are looking to buy one. It is our duty to fit you with the best horse for your interests. He is a really pretty dun gelding that should suit a lot of folks. He’s gentle even with time off. He is registered, stands 15.2 and in the prime of his life to go do anything you want to. He will suit a large variety of riders and lifestyles. He’s been exposed llamas, goats, dogs, pigs, mini cows and lots more. He doesn’t really care about any of it.

He is a tried and true ranch horse that has proven to be an asset in every way. This is one for the cow boss who wants to ride something super nice and broke to death. Go gather your stock in big country, rope and doctor sick cattle, drag calves to the fire, sort pairs, load trucks, pony colts, do absolutely anything you need to on him. He will side pass to open and close gates. He’s also the perfect horse for the gentleman rancher that works during the week but goes to the ranch on the weekends. You don’t have to keep him ridden down to be gentle.

Are you the weekend warrior trail rider that just wants something solid to hit the road with? Knox is your guy for that as well. He absolutely loves the trails and cruises out a loose rein with a good walk. He has been ridden in every kind of situation and terrain you can imagine. He will go up and down steep hills without an issue. He goes through water easily. He is road and traffic safe. He has been ridden with mules, atv’s, wagons and much more.

She’s a fancy broke mare that can be ridden with or with out a bridle, and will spin with the reiners. She a power house yet quiet. Just has it all! Don’t miss out on such a great mare. Clifford is a super nice gelding that is definitely one you should pat attention to. He has an impeccable pedigree being an own son of THIS GUYZ A KEEPER. He is paid up in the FUTURE FORTUNES. He has plenty of size standing 15.1, big b***d and wearing a #1 shoe. He rides around awesome. He is absolutely safe for anyone. A beautiful mover and just floats across the ground. He has been used around the ranch. Clifford has also been trail ridden all over. He is a prime age and could still be taken in the performance direction if you choose. Of course with his pedigree and being paid into FF he could easily go into a barrel horse program. He would be an awesome head horse with his size, ability and speed. No matter what you do with him he’s an amazing horse that will suit anyone.

She is a pocket size treasure that everyone falls in love with. She is built like a cutter. She’s one the kids will feel confident on but yet big enough that an adult can comfortably ride her as well. She stands a perfect 13.2 and stout made

She is as gentle as they come. At only 4 years old she offers the mind and temperament of a much older seasoned horse yet she still has an entire lifetime ahead of her. She was captured as a baby so has had human interaction and great training her whole life. She does not exhibit any rude behavior. She is not snorty or watchy. If she wasn’t freeze branded on the neck you would never believe she’s a mustang.

She has had wonderful professional training and rides around like a veteran in the arena. WTL as asked. She picks up her leads and lopes perfect circles. She has the cutest little jog and hobby horse lope makingyy her an incredibly smooth ride. She’s been used in the cutting pen for turn back and to settle the herd.

To our avid trail riders if you like to explore the great outdoors she is the perfect candidate to be your new trail blazing partner. With her background she is extremely surefooted and can maneuver anything you point her at. She will go through the water with a smile. She’s a happy little camper riding out alone or you can ride her in a group.

While you cannot call her a finished ranch horse you can rest assured she’s quickly becoming quite proficient at daily tasks. You can put her in a long trot or the cutest little short lope and travel for miles gathering and moving cattle. She’s definitely a handy little girl in the alleys to load trucks. The youth kids can take off and prowl pastures on her. Or send pawpaw out on her to check fence lines.

Meet Tillie!
She’s the coolest thing since sliced bread. She is the absolute perfect size for a youth kid or small adult. This girl is safe, sane and just freaking awesome. Don’t let her size fool you because she is mighty and can keep up with any big horse you put her beside. She is handy broke with an old fashioned, old man neck rein. You can put her anywhere you want to. She moves off your feet. She lopes right off and picks up her leads. She also has a great stop.
We have absolutely thrown anything and everything you can possibly imagine at this little mare and she has been a rockstar handling every single thing. The craziest shenanigans we’ve pulled have not gotten a single bad reaction out of her. When you watch the video you’ll see just how solid this little girl is. She’s been around bicycles, equipment, ATVs, crowds, the dragon (seriously), dogs, llamas - you name it she’s probably been exposed to it here. Even fireworks! I could go on and on but her video will speak for itself and proof is in the pudding.
Her main occupation has been working in a feed lot. She can handle a full days work and will never quit you. She side passes, opening and closing every gate you come to. She trots quietly down the alleys moving cattle and never gets stirred up even if she gets cows bunched up around her. You can use the flag off her and load trucks. You can pop the bull whip on her.
Tillie has also proven herself to be the most amazing little ranch mount. She’s gentle enough that your mid age kids can go drag calves on her and your grandpa can go out checking fences on her. You can hit a long trot and travel for miles and she will never miss a beat. Or if you prefer she’ll step off into a short lope and stay at a steady pace on a loose rein. If your kids want to take a nice break on a hot day she’ll go right down to the lake and go swimming. One can ride her and one can hold onto her tail being pulled through the water. You can even shoot a gun off her to kill snakes.
If you’re looking for the most fabulous trail horse ever and don’t have a ranch or cows no worries - Tillie will step right into that role. She loves to trail ride. She cruises all over the place on a loose rein and is not spooky. She will go up and down hills like a mountain goat. She is extremely surefooted and can pick her way through any kind of terrain. She will hop over logs and cross any bridge you come to. We’ve ridden her in town.
Tillie has the best cowboy manners you could ask for. She stands tied like a rock. She stands for the farrier. She takes a bath well and loves her grooming time. She is easy to saddle and tack up. She always loads and hauls like the lady she is.
