It is DRY here in southwest Arkansas. 😩🌾

So dry that we’re already feeding hay! We put out two big round bales tonight, and the herd wasted absolutely no time digging in. 😂

They’re still getting fed twice a day, and I’ve already started supplementing with some of my square alfalfa and grass hay, too.

Normally we’d still have plenty of grass this time of year, but the pasture is getting crispy FAST.

Horse ownership: you feed what’s in front of you, not what the calendar says should be there. 🐴

Now everybody please join me in requesting a few days of nice, steady rain. 🌧️😂

Apparently when you run a business page, you’re supposed to actually POST on it occasionally. 😂

I’ve been a little busy.

There are 12 horses to feed, ride, medicate, groom, schedule appointments for, and generally cater to.

There are lessons to teach.

There are barrel races and playdays to attend.

The trailer decided it needed a brake repair (the same day I paid it off).

The equine dentist is coming.

One horse has an upcoming road trip to Texas for a podiatry appointment because apparently my horses have more specialized medical care than I do.

And somewhere in there, I’m supposed to remember to take pictures and make Facebook posts. 😂

So yes, KH Horsemanship is still alive and well. We are just ✨busy doing the horsemanship✨.

I’ll try to do better. Probably.

A little Jasper appreciation post because I mean… look at this guy. ❤️

Thursday night at Hugo, Jasper packed two of my littlest riders around like it was just another day at the office.

At 24 years old, he’s been there, done that, and not much impresses him anymore. 😂 One kid? Two kids? Rodeo chaos? Whatever. Jasper just wants to know where we’re going.

Horses like him are worth their weight in gold. He’s patient, forgiving, dependable, and takes care of his little riders while they learn and build confidence.

He may not be the youngest or fastest horse in the pasture, but he has one of the most important jobs at KH Horsemanship: taking care of my kids and helping them fall in love with horses. ❤️

We sure do love our Jasper. 🥹🐴
