Tenacity. Persistence. Willingness to work alone. And an incredible nose.
All reasons Dolly is still the most integral part of our operation 🧔

06/11/2026

Dolly has NOT been happy about being left out of work. Her two week post-op appointment is in the morning, so I just laid her a little 35 yard track (which insulted her, of coursešŸ˜‚) but I would say she’s BACK!

We can’t wait until October, but in the meantime we’ll be putting in the work🧔

We would really like to thank the vets and techs (and the good Lord) at for taking such great care of Dolly over the last week. They truly saved her life🧔
I don’t know what we would do without our little beadle in our operation.

We are on our way home with Dolly!
She’s got a bit of a long row to hoe, but we are so grateful to be here.
Honestly, on Friday I didn’t think we’d be bringing her home.
Now time for lots of rest and snuggles 🧔

We know Dolly will be this excited to get back to work this season🧔
The tech just called from the clinic (5/31 6pm) and said Dolly has had another perfect day. They said that the average time frame for complications to arise is 3-5 days post op, so she may have to stay a few more days for observation, but we will definitely be going by for a visit tomorrow!
I’m trying really hard to not make the vets/techs hate me. But two days with no visit has already been bad enough!

Update 3/30 6pm: Dolly is doing great! She has eaten and everything is moving well. Hopefully she can come home Monday with no issues!

Dolly is doing better this morning!
The tech said she did have a movement overnight (her first in a week) and ate a little this morning. She said she is much brighter and very vocal this morning.
We are extremely grateful for the vets God has put in this situation. And for all of your prayers.
We will continue praying for her healing and recovery.

UPDATE: Dolly’s surgery is going well. They did find a linear, fibrous blockage that they could not identify. But, that explains why it didn’t palpate or show up on imaging.
They had to open her gut to remove part of the object, as well as remove 12ā€ of intestines.
They said a tech will call when she comes out of anesthesia to update us.
She will be spending a few more days at the vet so that they can monitor her recover.
Opening up the GI tract poses a lot of challenges for recovery, but we are so grateful that they did find something that could be fixed.
She’s young and otherwise healthy, so she has that in her favor.
God answers prayers šŸ™šŸ¼

Dolly is currently undergoing an exploratory surgery.
Her labs this afternoon showed her pancreatic enzymes were still slowly dropping, but her white blood cell count is now rising.
We stopped by to see her this afternoon and she was very weak and lethargic.
We are praying that they are able to find the cause of these issues and can right it.

Dolly did not get to come home today.
When they ran her labs this afternoon her numbers were still trending down, but not within a normal range and she was back off food.
She is back on IV fluids and spending (hopefully) one more night in the hospital🧔

05/28/2026

Dolly Update: The vet tech called this morning to let us know that Dolly is doing much better today!
She had taken her IV out over night, but they weren’t too worried about it because she ate very well this morning. She is also letting EVERYONE know she wants out of that kennel. Which, if you’ve ever had the pleasure of hearing her lock on one in the field, you can only imagine inside the clinicšŸ˜‚
They are going to run her labs one more time after lunch and if she is still eating well and her labs are still trending down she can come home🧔
