๐‘ซ๐’Š๐’… ๐’€๐’๐’– ๐‘ฒ๐’๐’๐’˜?

Your puppy doesnโ€™t need to be entertained all day.

One of the most valuable things you can teach a puppy is how to simply do nothing.

Itโ€™s tempting to keep puppies constantly busy with toys, walks, playtime and attentionโ€”but puppies also need to learn how to settle on their own.

Teaching calm downtime can help:

โ€ข Build independence
โ€ข Reduce attention-seeking behaviors
โ€ข Prevent overstimulation
โ€ข Make crate and quiet time easier
โ€ข Encourage an โ€œoff switchโ€ as they grow

A puppy who learns that every waking moment doesnโ€™t have to be exciting can grow into a much easier adult dog to live with. โค๏ธ

Sometimes the best thing you can do for your puppy is give them a safe place, a chew toy, and permission to be bored.

๐ƒ๐ข๐ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐ค๐ง๐จ๐ฐ?

Those crazy puppy zoomies actually have a name!

Theyโ€™re called FRAPs โ€” Frenetic Random Activity Periods.

That sudden burst of running in circles, flying across the room, bouncing off the furniture, and acting completely WILD for a few minutes is normal puppy behavior. ๐Ÿถ

Zoomies often happen when puppies:

๐Ÿพ Have built-up energy
๐Ÿ˜ด Are overtired or overstimulated
๐Ÿ› Just had a bath
๐ŸŽ‰ Get really excited
๐Ÿ’ฉ And yesโ€ฆ sometimes right after going potty ๐Ÿ˜‚

Most zoomies are completely normal and usually end just as quickly as they started.

๐๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฒ ๐“๐ข๐ฉ: If your puppy gets extra wild when theyโ€™re tired, more exercise isnโ€™t always the answer. Sometimes what they really need is a quiet break and a nap.

Thereโ€™s nothing better than hearing how well one of our 3F Goldens babies is doing in their new home! Murphy has settled right in and apparently decided pretty quickly that he runs the house. ๐Ÿ˜‚

From collecting every stick he can find, running through the sprinklers, destroying a few toys ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ, and discovering that ice cubes make the BEST entertainmentโ€”this boy is living his best life!

And we have to brag on him a littleโ€ฆ 2 weeks with no accidents AND sleeping through the night in his kennel! ๐Ÿ‘ Go Murphy!!

Updates like this are one of my favorite parts of raising these babies. We love watching them grow into such loved members of their families. โค๏ธ

Golden Retrievers come in a beautiful range of shades โ€” from light cream all the way to rich, dark golden. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿงก

While everyone may have their favorite color, a Goldenโ€™s coat shade doesnโ€™t determine their personality, temperament, or how much love they have to give.

Around here, we love seeing all the different shades of gold! โœจ

Now we want to knowโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ‘‡ Which shade steals YOUR heart?

๐Ÿค Light Cream
๐Ÿ’› Light Golden
๐Ÿงก Medium Golden
๐ŸคŽ Dark/Red Golden
