Week 2 of Puppy Class!

Tonight was our first week working hands on with the puppies! Last week, we focused on the owners, teaching them the foundations of training, communication, and how to set their puppies up for success.

Tonight, it was time to put those skills into practice with the pups!

We worked on:

-Engagement: Learning to pay attention to their owners and check in with them.

-Sit & Down: Building the foundation for basic obedience.

-Leash Skills: Teaching puppies what the leash means and how to work with their owners.

-No Jumping: Learning that sitting is a better way to greet people and earn attention.

-Calmness Around Other Dogs: Practicing staying calm around other puppies and learning that they don’t have to interact with every dog they see.

Puppy class is about so much more than teaching commands! We focus on building communication between dogs and their owners, creating good habits, and developing real life skills that will last a lifetime.

What a great first week with the pups! I’m excited to watch these puppies and their owners continue to grow together!

Last Night’s Behavior Modification Group Class!

All of these dogs did such a great job!

Each of these dogs has previously worked with me through private lessons, and now they’re taking the next step by working together in a group setting!

Our goal is to teach the dogs how to remain calm, neutral, and comfortable around other dogs without feeling the need to interact, react, or engage with one another.

Learning to coexist calmly around other dogs is an incredibly valuable skill, especially for dogs who struggle with reactivity or anxiety. We’re building on the foundation established during private lessons and helping these dogs put their skills to work in a more challenging environment.

I’m so proud of the progress these dogs and their owners are making!

Neutrality is a skill, and every little win counts!

4 Week Fast Tract Basic Obedience Group Class

Looking to build better manners, improve your dog’s obedience, and strengthen your relationship? Our 4 Week Basic Obedience Fast Track is a smaller, more personalized, fast paced class designed for dogs who already have a basic understanding of obedience!

This class is perfect for dogs who have completed our Puppy Class or have previously participated in private lessons.

Tuesdays: November 10, 17, 24 & December 1
4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
8493 Dawsonville Hwy, Dawsonville, GA

🐕 Ages 6 months and up, all ages welcome!

Prerequisite: Dogs must already know Sit and Down.

WEEK 1: OWNER ONLY FOUNDATION SESSION

Our first week is without dogs! We’ll cover the foundations owners need for success, including:
-Establishing clear communication
-Setting realistic training goals
-Proper training techniques
-The importance of consistency and patience

This session prepares you to confidently guide your dog through the upcoming classes.

-Place
-Drop It
-Leave It
-Stay
-Heel
-Here (Recall)
-Focus & Engagement
-Proper leash handling and owner confidence
-Building calmness and neutrality around distractions

Our goal is to help you build reliable obedience skills that carry over into everyday life, all while strengthening the bond between you and your dog!

Saturday’s puppy class learned lots of new real life skills!

From practicing standing calmly for grooming to getting comfortable with vet exams, we’re helping our puppies build confidence and learn skills they’ll use throughout their lives.

At Willow Creek Dog Training, our puppy classes focus on setting puppies up for success by teaching more than just basic obedience. We want to help raise confident, well mannered dogs who are prepared to handle the real world!

4 WEEK BASIC OBEDIENCE CLASS

Looking for a smaller, more personalized training experience? Our 4 Week Basic Obedience Class is a fast paced class designed for dogs who already have a basic understanding of obedience and are ready to take their skills to the next level!

Only 4 dogs per class!
This small class size allows for more individualized instruction, hands on guidance, and plenty of opportunities to work through real world distractions.

Requirements:
Dogs must at least have a basic understanding of Sit & Down

Dates: Wednesdays
October 21st
October 28th
November 4th
November 11th
Rain Date: November 18th

Time: 5:15 PM – 6:15 PM

Ages: 9 Months+
Any age is welcome as long as they meet the basic obedience requirements!
