We’re proud to share Cory’s Second Chance Scholarship (CSCS) — created in memory of my little brother Cory, whose life was cut short by addiction but whose love for animals never faded.
What it is:
CSCS covers adoption fees for pets who are too often overlooked — pit bulls and other “bully” breeds, seniors, long-stay animals, and those with special needs.
How it works:
💙 Donations go directly to the Vermilion County Animal Shelter.
💙 Please write “CSCS” in the Donation/Sponsorship line so your gift is directed to the Scholarship.
💙 Sponsored pets will be marked with CSCS signs at the shelter, showing that their adoption fees are covered.
Why it matters:
Studies show that the bond between people and animals can ease loneliness, reduce stress, and support recovery — proof that pets change lives on both sides of the leash. The comfort of a loyal pet can be the difference between despair and hope, relapse and sobriety. Every adoption is a second chance — and a reminder of the healing power animals bring to people’s lives.
