Slackwater Farm is a small, family-run farm in Southern Maryland that focuses on breeding quality chickens, goats and rabbits that are ideal for families with children that want to embark on a similar small farm adventure. We start with pedigreed/registered broodstock or better (none of our foundation animals are only pet quality). Our animals are chosen for their size, temperament, and functional

ity (meat, eggs, milk, etc - except for the rabbits - they're just fun, and not overly useful!), and are backyard friendly (check your local zoning restrictions for livestock!). If you're looking for a family pet, or want to produce some milk, meat or eggs for your own family, contact us to figure out how best to start!

Last weekend, Victoria took Bella (Keystone Belle of the Ball) to a trail clinic at the Joy of Horses in Knoxville, MD, where they were able to complete all of the obstacles both in-hand and under saddle. Bella outperformed some horses that are much older and more experienced! Needless to say, everyone had fun and wants to go back with other ponies in the future!
