Update on Samwise and Frodo!

These little love bugs are very close to being adoption-ready! With vetting complete and their healing almost finished… they’ve come out of their shells quite a bit and are the sweetest tiny little guys!

Samwise had surgery to remove his very broken leg (after 3 separate medical opinions) and has healed up very well. He’s adapting to getting around and learning to p*e without tipping over!

Frodo’s back legs are a congenital issue. His knee caps are too far inside and his leg muscles reach around to the inside to the point where his legs cannot straighten. There MIGHT be a corrective surgery through a specialist, but since he’s not in pain and gets around very well like he is, we decided there’s no reason to cause him the pain and trauma of a surgery.
He might have arthritis in the future - but having a surgery would almost certainly guarantee arthritis anyway.

These babies are very bonded and will only be adopted together. They’re both boys, chihuahuas, neutered, 4 pounds each, up to date on shots, and otherwise healthy little sweethearts. Transport might be available for the right home. They’re available for application through Dreya's Place: A Pet Haven and there is an adoption fee.

Please share and contact me if you’d like to meet them!

💔 Seven beloved cats have lost the only home they’ve ever known… and now they’re searching for a second chance. 💔

When their beloved human mama passed away, these sweet cats lost the person they had loved their entire lives. Her family is heartbroken, but they simply aren’t in a position to care for seven cats. They reached out to Dreya’s Place hoping we could help find the loving homes their mama would have wanted for them.

These aren’t shelter cats. They aren’t strays. They are cherished family members who have spent their entire lives together in a quiet, loving home.

🐾 They range from approximately 6–7 years old.
🐾 They’ve always lived indoors.
🐾 They are affectionate, playful, and well-socialized once they get to know you.
🐾 Several are closely bonded, and we would love to see them adopted in pairs whenever possible.

Meet the family:

🖤 Ringo – A sweet tuxedo boy with Cerebellar Hypoplasia (“Wobbly Cat Syndrome”). He doesn’t let it slow him down! He loves to play, be brushed, and shower his favorite people with affectionate cheek rubs. He’s deeply bonded with his brother, Boo.

🖤 Boo – Ringo’s fluffy tuxedo brother. A gentle, soft-hearted boy with the most luxurious coat you’ve ever touched. He’s a little shy at first but blossoms into a loving companion and shares a special bond with Ringo.

🧡 Shadow – The beautiful tortoiseshell mama of Scooter and Cleo. Quiet, observant, and incredibly loving once she trusts you, she was known for curling up in her owner’s lap for naps. We’d love for her to stay with one of her children if possible.

🧡 Scooter – The family comedian! Curious, playful, and always exploring, Scooter brings joy wherever he goes. After playtime, he’s happiest curled up in your lap for cuddles.

🤍 Cleo – A beautiful calico with a gentle heart. She may need a little extra patience as she settles into a new home, but once she feels safe, she loves to play, be brushed, and soak up affection. She would do wonderfully with Shadow or Boo.

This family has already experienced one heartbreaking loss. Our hope is that they won’t have to lose each other, too.

If you’ve been considering adding a feline companion to your family—or perhaps even opening your heart to a bonded pair—these wonderful cats have so much love left to give.

❤️ Please share this post. Even if you aren’t looking to adopt, someone in your circle may be searching for the perfect companion.

Together, we can give these beloved cats the happy ending their mama would have wanted for them.

📩 Please message Dreya’s Place: A Pet Haven for adoption information or to learn more about these wonderful cats.

🚨URGENT DFW FOSTER(S) NEEDED NOW!!!🚨

📍Sulphur Springs, TX (DFW Area - can have them transported to a foster somewhere else in DFW)

These 6 puppies will need somewhere safe to go within a few days.

Their owner reached out asking for help after an accidental litter involving her 9-year-old dog as strays got to her before they moved to a secure property…. She shared that as soon as the puppies are placed, the money currently being spent caring for them will go toward getting mom spayed, so this never happens again. She already rehomed 2 of the 8, so 6 still need help..

The puppies are 7 weeks old and are being weaned, and they are just about ready to leave their mom in the next week.

Their owner had been bottle-feeding and supplementing them because their senior mom wasn’t producing enough milk, and they are now eating wet food.

Unfortunately, their landlord plans to charge them $25 per puppy per day once they are ready to leave, making it impossible for the family to keep them while searching for homes.

I’m desperately looking for DFW fosters to help these puppies get the safe start they deserve and never contribute to the overpopulation further. Mutts N Such Rescue is willing to back them with committed DFW fosters, but cannot live in an apartment.

Please comment below and message The Dogs Need Our Help if you can foster or if your rescue can help.

Please share, so these six babies don’t run out of options and end up in an even worse situation….

The boys got new names AND were dropped off for surgeries this morning!
First the names… the shelter was calling them Brad and Dunn. I didn’t like those at all for these guys so new names are…. (Drumroll, please)…
FRODO AND SAMWISE!
They’re besties and look out for each other… bonded and so sweet… it’s perfect.
For the surgeries… after 3 doctor opinions and consulting with 2 other rescue owners, the board and I made the decision to have Sam’s leg amputated. Yes, his leg was broken by wrist… but we aren’t sure for how long… and being at the angle it was broken, options such as splinting, rods and pins, or plate and screws all had the added possibility of causing infection, prolonging pain through additional healing, treatments, surgery, and ultimately needing to removing the limb and anyway. Not to mention arthritis that comes with having those types of surgeries. So this will cut his healing time, he’s not been using the leg anyway, and decrease the chances of infection. I’m confident this is the right decision.
For Frodo, his back leg situation, according to both vets I consulted with, is congenital and not currently causing him pain. There is (possibly) a specialty surgery that could be done, but it’s a drawn out process and would create pain where there is none. They both believe he may need pain management when he gets older, but that’s not out of the realm of possibility even with surgery. Both also said this would’ve been a much simpler fix when he was much younger.
So… that’s where we are. The babies are with a good vet today. I’ll bring them him later to baby and coddle them… and if you’ve got an idea of someone special who could love these two little misfits forever… please send them our way!

These boys came into Dreya’s Place the end of last week from the Dallas shelter. They were picked up as stray and on the urgent list. They’re young, three years or less, not yet fixed, a little shy but VERY sweet, and both need pretty serious surgeries. The shelter gave them super lame names, so definitely need new ones (drop suggestions below!). They have an evaluation appointment at the vet tomorrow afternoon and I’ll know an approximation of the very frightening vet bills that will be dropped on me. (Fundraiser to follow!)

The light colored boy has a very broken leg… (X-rays and more photos in comments) and the tri-colored boy obviously has 2 very bad knees.

This is a BIG ask… but here we go… Dakota and Shadow are 10 year old besties whose human mama has to go into nursing care. They need a soft landing to retire in love. They’re very bonded and very sweet. Good with dogs and kids. Not cat tested as yet. Dakota was spayed but Shadow was never neutered and is now having prostate issues and on meds. Dakota has thyroid issues and is taking meds for that. If you know someone who can adopt or long-term foster this sweet elderly couple, please message me asap. Time is critical.
