Enchanted Finches Enchanted Finches, run by Deborah, who is a hobby finch breeder. We have several species of finches. Deborah is a member of NFSS. I closed band my finches.

I am a NFSS (National Finch and Softbill Society) member. My aviary is a "closed" aviary, meaning all new finches are quarantined in a different location to ensure their health, before added to the flock. All new finches and juveniles are treated to prevent ASM and other possible finch illnesses. Current Finch Species: Red Throat Parrot Finch, Seagreen Parrot Finch, Peales Parrot Finches, Forbes P

I found a parrot finch hatchling Sunday evening in the foster cage. The Society pair, Mozart and DaVince are not feeding him as of today. So, I am handfeeding him and putting him back in the nest because they are dutifully brooding. Here is a pic. I can't recall if I put Peales PF eggs or Forbes PF eggs in the nest. We'll see...

Setting up for breeding again. I spent all day Sunday cleaning all the flights, cages, perches, dishes, etc. Whew! I am tired. I am focusing on my Peales, RTPF's and Owls this time around. I have enough GS juvies, but could use some unrelated hens to pair the boys up. I may set up my other GS pair and see if they raise any babies.

Now, I have three fawn owls and two normal/fawn owl juveniles. That brings the number of owls down to 11, from 14!

Four parrot finches fledged and are now weaned! My only problem is distinguishing the males from females.
