THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH TO ALL OF OUR WONDERFUL NEIGHBORS! In Northwood Hills, Prestonwood, Valley View, Bent Trail and so many more, I can’t even thank you all enough!

All eight puppies were adopted; the last two left this morning for their forever homes

Thanks to all the help and the donations that you gave, they cut back so much stress from having to worry about changing sheets and towels, and doing loads of wash in between dealing with these active puppies while quarantined and waiting to be approved and released by our Vet for adoption!

I’ve tried to find the pieces of paper and Post-it notes and everyone who left some bags and phone numbers that I asked for — so I would be able to say thank you — and I can’t find most of them and I hope I reached out but if I didn’t, I promise you - We are very, very grateful!

And also to Nori - Nori, wherever you are, thank you so much for the pet supplies gift card. I just found this envelope with your nice note that you drove by when the puppies arrived and saw them in the back of Angie’s SUV 🤪💜

Thank you for taking the time to come back and leave the card and supplies. I just found the note and the card and wanted to say thank you but you didn’t leave a number!

EVERYTHING that EVERYONE DONATED is so appreciated.

Max Needs a Foster or Forever Home 💔

Maxwell, better known as Max, is the longest-living resident at his rural shelter—and his life is truly on the line. 😢

Max has absolutely no reason to have been waiting this long. He is a staff and volunteer favorite, friendly with everyone he meets and well-behaved with other dogs.

This handsome medium-sized Golden Shepherd mix is such a special boy. He has a beautiful golden-and-brown coat with gorgeous brindle patches, and an even more beautiful personality. ❤️

Max is:

🐾 Housebroken & crate trained
🐾 Knows lots of commands
🐾 Very eager to please and a quick learner
🐾 Doing very well on a leash
🐾 Friendly with people and good with other dogs
🐾 Moderate energy—not hyper, not a couch potato
🐾 Cuddly, funny and incredibly loyal
🐾 Motivated by treats, praise and, most of all, his people

Max is the perfect combination of a dog who can go places and be your sidekick, but who is also perfectly content to lie at your feet while you work on your laptop or relax and watch TV.

And this boy is a BIG lover! He absolutely melts for belly rubs, ear scratches and attention. He loves staying close to his person day and night and would happily be your constant companion.

Max could also make a wonderful canine companion for a large female dog of a similar age and size.

💔 But right now, Max needs someone to step up for him. He has waited far too long, and every day he remains at the shelter puts him at greater risk.

💙 Meet Auggie — Your Future Furry Sidekick! 💙

Auggie is a sweet, young Aussie-Collie mix, approximately 2½–3 years old, who is ready to leave his shelter days behind and find the forever family who will love him, spoil him, and show him just how wonderful life can be!

Auggie spent the past 2–3 weeks in a rural shelter, and DASH is bringing him into a much more comfortable environment where he can decompress, relax, and discover all the good things about being part of a home. We’re talking air conditioning, comfy sofas, cozy beds, dog beds, gentle attention, and lots of loving! 🥰

And one thing we already know about Auggie: this boy is a WATER BUG! 💦

He absolutely loves lying in and splashing around in the outdoor baby pool. We have a feeling he’d be just as happy running through sprinklers, playing in a swimming pool, or accompanying his people on adventures to a lake or creek. 😂 Based on his size, build, and love of water, we’re pretty sure he’s going to be a very enthusiastic outdoor-water companion!

Auggie is a smart boy who is already learning what’s expected of him. He has learned to walk nicely on a leash, sit, and follow simple commands. He is also housebroken and crate trained, which gives his new family a wonderful head start.

Like many herding dogs, Auggie can be a little shy when meeting new people, particularly men. But once he realizes someone is kind and trustworthy, he warms up quickly. He responds beautifully to gentle attention and absolutely loves being scratched behind his ears and along his back. ❤️

The more love Auggie receives, the more his confidence grows.

We’re looking for a calm, moderately active home with no children under 12 where Auggie can continue building his confidence at his own pace. He loves other dogs, and a confident, friendly female dog could be a wonderful companion for him — someone who can help show him that his new home is a safe and happy place.

Auggie could also be the perfect best buddy, wingman, copilot, or four-legged sidekick for someone looking for a loyal companion to share life’s adventures with. 🐾

He’s affectionate, gentle, smart, and still discovering what indoor life and being close to people are all about. He may be a little shy at first, but underneath that initial hesitation is a sweet boy who is ready to blossom.

He and his brother were rescued as puppies and lovingly raised in foster care. His brother has already found his forever home and now it’s Thor’s turn.

Thor is an intelligent, affectionate young dog with the energy and curiosity you’d expect from an active herding- breed mix

Thor thrives when he has something to do, whether that’s hiking, playing fetch, learning new tricks, participating in dog sports, or simply exploring with his people. An active family that enjoys including their dog in daily activities would be an ideal match.

A securely fenced yard or acreage would be wonderful for Thor, but he could also do well with an equally busy and playful canine companion.

Like many young Aussies and Border Collies, Thor is happiest when both his body and mind are kept busy.

A Wonderful Bonded Pair Looking for Their Next Chapter

Bruno and Rayna are an incredibly sweet, friendly bonded pair who are hoping to find a loving family to call their own. At almost 3 and almost 5 years old, they’ve settled into the perfect stage of life—playful when it’s time for fun, but also content to relax and cuddle once the excitement is over.

These two truly enjoy each other’s company and have a wonderful energy level together. They also get along beautifully with other dogs and have absolutely no history of aggression.

Bruno and Rayna are:

● Crate trained
● Housebroken
● Excellent leash walkers
● Trusted to have free roam of the home
● Non-destructive when left alone—they’re perfectly happy to nap and wait for their people to return.

Their family loves them dearly, but due to an unexpected job relocation to Puerto Rico with very little notice, they have made the heartbreaking decision to entrust DASH with finding the perfect new home. This decision was made entirely out of love, and we have promised their family that we will find them the wonderful future they deserve.

Our hope is to keep Bruno and Rayna together, as they truly enjoy one another’s companionship. However, if the ideal situation requires placing them separately, we will ensure each is matched with a home that includes a compatible canine companion.

As with all DASH dogs, we are looking for families where someone is home for much of the day or where the dogs won’t routinely be left alone for 8–10 hours. Dogs are family members, and Bruno and Rayna deserve a home where they can be included in everyday life and enjoy the companionship they have always known.

Daisy is one of two beautiful medium-sized girls who were found together after being dumped with two other boy dogs. These girls have been through a lot, but Daisy has remained sweet, loving and wonderfully gentle.

Daisy is a true medium-sized girl, weighing approximately 35–40 pounds, and she has a lovely, easy-to-love personality.

She can be a little shy at first but once she feels comfortable, her sweet personality shines through. Daisy is friendly, affectionate and playful, just with a more laid-back approach to life.

Daisy enjoys playing and having fun, but she isn’t high-energy; Daisy would likely be happiest with a family who wants a dog who can enjoy some playtime and adventures but is also perfectly content to settle in and spend time with her people.

Daisy already knows “sit” and is great on a leash, which makes her a wonderful companion for walks and outings. She’s a sweet girl who seems to genuinely enjoy being with people.

Daisy and Dixie were found together and have very similar stories, but they do not need to be adopted together. 💕 Meet Roxy — A Sweet, Affectionate Girl Looking for Her Forever Home

DASH welcomed Roxy into rescue after her family found themselves facing an unimaginable situation: a premature baby in the NICU and a medical emergency that made it impossible for them to continue caring for her.

Since coming into rescue, Roxy has been an incredible companion. She is an affectionate, loving girl who absolutely adores her people. She loves giving hugs, wants to be close to you, and sleeps right beside us. She truly is just a wonderful dog with so much love to give.

When it comes to the people she knows and loves, Roxy is fantastic. She previously lived in a home with two young children, so she does have experience living with kids, although we have not personally observed her around children while in our care.

Roxy could use some extra TLC to help her be more comfortable in her new home; she may shy away from visitors. However, she is very different when she’s out in public. On leash, she is calm, well-behaved, and comfortable around people. She has also been excellent at the veterinarian’s office and has done wonderfully during both of her grooming appointments.

Roxy is the kind of girl who wants to be part of the family — to be loved, included, cuddled, and right by your side. Once she knows you, she has plenty of affection to give.

If you’re looking for a sweet, loving companion who will happily be your shadow and snuggle up beside you, Roxy may be your girl. 💕🐾

Dixie is one of two beautiful medium-sized girls who were found together after being dumped with two other boy dogs. Despite whatever their past may have been, Dixie is nothing but sweet, loving and ready to have fun!

Dixie is still underweight at approximately 35 pounds, but she’s working on filling out and feeling her very best. She’s a wonderful combination of affectionate and energetic and absolutely loves being around people.

This girl LOVES to play fetch and is full of energy! She’ll happily run, chase a ball and keep you entertained. And if you have a pool…even better! Dixie has discovered that the pool is VERY FUN. She’ll run around playing and then happily jump right into the pool for a swim and more playtime. 🏊‍♀️💦

With her athletic build, enthusiasm and love of learning, we think Dixie could be an amazing agility dog for someone who enjoys dog sports or would love to introduce their dog to agility.

Dixie is also incredibly affectionate. She loves hugs and kisses and will happily give kisses right back. ❤️ She’s friendly, loving and eager to interact with her people.

She already knows “sit,” and Dixie has an adorable little trick — she shakes with both paws! 🐾 She’s also great on a leash, making her an easy girl to take along on adventures.
