Watch to the end for a surprise 🤣

Anyways… 🥹 This is Birdie, a sweet pup I had the privilege of training last year.

We spent 3 months working together, and one of our biggest goals was helping her feel more comfortable around other dogs so she could walk calmly without reacting on leash. And we DID IT. 🤍

But honestly, the biggest win for me wasn’t just Birdie’s progress—it was seeing her mom gain the confidence and support she needed to handle her dog successfully.

I know firsthand how overwhelming, stressful, and sometimes even embarrassing it can feel to have a reactive dog. You can start to feel like everyone is watching or judging you, when really, you just want to enjoy life with your dog.

That’s why my training is about more than teaching the dog. I want YOU to leave with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to continue succeeding even when I’m not there.

Because the goal isn’t for your dog to only listen to me. The goal is for YOU to feel confident handling your dog. 🐾

Comment “READY” if you’re ready to take the first step toward becoming a more confident dog owner. ❤️

It’s been a while... so allow me to reintroduce myself! 👋🏽

I’m Areona (like Ariana), and I built Carter’s K-9 brick by brick, starting at just 18 years old.

You’ve probably heard it a million times, but I’m a proud Texas A&M graduate. WHOOP! 👍🏽 T’s & G’s! 😂

When I’m not training dogs or caring for your sweet pups, you can usually find me diamond painting, binge-watching a true crime documentary, or….shopping. LOL

our mission is to provide pet owners with an open, welcoming, and judgment-free space where you can ask questions, learn with confidence, and achieve real results with your dog.

We’d love for you to give us a follow or share it with a fellow dog owner! You can also use the website link in bio to learn more about the services we offer.

Whether you’re new here or you’ve been supporting CK9 since the beginning, I truly appreciate you from the bottom of my heart. ❤️ Thank you for being part of this journey.

Open door = back away from the door! ⚠️

This exercise teaches Jasper that an open door is not an invitation to rush outside. Instead, he’s learning to calmly move away from the doorway and wait for permission before being released through.

(He doesn’t have to lay down, he’s choosing to do this on his own and I’m not mad at it lol)

Cache’s parents reached out to me feeling completely overwhelmed by his behavior inside the home. He really struggles when people get up and walk away, leave the room, come in and out of the house, and especially when someone walks up or down the stairs.

After going over multiple scenarios with his family, we believe a slip and fall on the stairs when they first got him may have created a really negative association and spiraled those big feelings.

So we started a new training plan focused on changing that emotional response. We’re pairing movement around the house with high value rewards like chicken and cheese so Cache can start associating people moving away from him with something positive instead of stressful.

After just 3 lessons + dedicated homework from his parents, we’ve already made progress. 🙌🏽

We also started having people meet Cache outside first in a neutral space, which has helped improve his reactions when guests initially arrive.

In this video, we’re working on me turning my back and walking up the stairs. While he still has a few reactions, he’s able to self regulate, check in with his parent, and respond to his name instead of completely escalating.

At the initial consultation, Cache barked nonstop for 25 minutes and worked himself into a frenzy. Today, I was able to calmly walk into the house and get a much more manageable response.

We’re not at the finish line yet, but these baby steps matter. Proud of Cache and his family for putting in the work. 🖤

Default down has been one of my new favorite things to teach!! 🤩 It doesn’t have a verbal cue, you sitting is the cue for your dog to lay down. It prevents jumping, begging and overcrowding your space!

HAPPY 6th BIRTHDAY TO MY INDI POT 🎉

I am so blessed to have such an amazing, quirky, silly, dog! When I got her in college I never would’ve thought she’d be one of the only constant things in my life over the years. She’s been so adaptable throughout so many changes of our lives! She’s gotten me out of bed countless days when life was hard. Indi has so much personality and keeps me laughing and a smile on my face. As I type this with literal tears rolling down my eyes, she has no idea how much she means to me! I’ve been a dog mama for 6 years now and she is one of my biggest blessings!!

Mama loves you soooo much Indi Pot!!! 💕
