During a recent narcotics investigation in rural Webster County, Deputy Monson and K9 Iza assisted the Department of Narcotics Enforcement in seizing over two pounds of methamphetamine valued at over $10,000. Great work to you both for keeping narcotics out of our communities and those that sell them in prison.

While on routine patrol Deputy Miller and K9 Stano stopped a vehicle for a simple traffic violation. Further investigation and roadside interview led to the seizure of over a pound of ma*****na and a 3D printed "Ghost" gun. Great work getting drugs and dangerous weapons off our streets! Proud of you both!

Just finishing up a week-long training at the annual Iowa Dogs For Law Enforcement training seminar in Independence, Iowa! We are very proud of all the teams and trainers who attended from across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom! Over 100 teams attended! We at Tree Town Kennels LLC are especially proud of these three Tree Town Kennels teams for placing in some of the competitions that accompanied the training here! Handler Austin Almond and K9 Kalo from Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received first place in the patrol competition! Officer Josh Hobbs and K9 Zeven from the Centerville Police Department finished second in the narcotics sniff-off challenge, and Deputy Matt Miller and K9 Stan with the Webster County Sheriff’s Office finished third in the sniff-off challenge! Congratulations, teams, and way to represent the program!!

After K-9 Legend’s first year on the job, we would like to share with you what he has been up to. K-9 Legend has assisted in over thirty (30) calls for service in his first year with the Howard County Sheriff’s Office. What does this mean? This means he has helped track down lost individuals and wanted fugitives. Not only has he been a major asset in locating individuals, but he also helped us take illegal narcotics off the roadways and streets. If it were not for Legend’s hard work and amazing nose, the illicit drugs would have reached their destination. We would like to thank the citizens of Howard County and everyone else who has contributed to making the HCSO K-9 program what it is today. By doing so you helped us remove Methamphetamine, Ma*****na, Fentanyl, and Hallucinogenic mushrooms from our communities. This is only the beginning of K-9 Legends career, and we are excited to see what the future holds.
