Officially introducing Kismet Sriracha!

Born April 24, 2026 at a very considerate 8:30AM, Sriracha is the very first foal of both his sire and dam, as well as our very first 2nd generation baby!

Sired by Kismet Locomotion and out of Ozark Atomic Energy, this guy is already showing his natural athletic ability at just 6 days old. I’ve caught him doing gorgeous turnbacks, spins, and sliding stops as well as all the other cute foal shenanigans babies do.

While he’ll be color tested to confirm whether or not he carries his sire’s silver gene, I’m pretty confident that he’s red dun.

Based on his parents’ height, we’re estimating he’ll top out at 15-15.1h.

He IS looking for a new home and will be able to go after weaning.

Buckeye Day 1 is a wrap!

It was a strange day for the sale, and I noticed some things that haven't happened at previous versions of the event so I thought I'd share my musings. Prices for horses were all over the place. This sale is VERY heavily Amish influenced; they literally make up 99% of the attendees. They are very particular about what they like, and aren't afraid to pay for it, but i found it strange that even normal prospects that would usually sell for a good penny this year weren't going for a typical dollar amount.

Don't misunderstand, there were still numerous horses sold for over $10,000 and a few over 20, but I'd like to share specifically what was Foundation bred that sold today for those that are looking for good prospects for breeding or training, that might have forgotten that there are other avenues to find good stock at lower rates if you're willing to take a chance and think outside the box.

The Foundation stock I looked at today and took note of:
#7 MRMF Twilight Dream - 5 year old mare - Drives. - Pulled From Sale
#31 JAB Royal Monarch - 4 year old gelding - Drives - $5,250
#32 DWL Queen of Hearts - 4 year old mare - Drives - $4,500
#40 Pleasantview's Torchfire - 12 year old gelding - Rides and Drives- $1,500
#43 Magnificent Miss Friendly - 5 year old mare - Drives - No Saled $2,000 bid
#66 Bar Nothing Virgil - Yearling C**t - $600
#78 Jeanlin Jan's Gem - 9 Year old mare - Rides and Drives Single/Double - $6,250
#79 Jeanlin Jamaican Eclipse - 8 year old mare - Rides and Drives Single/Double - $6,000
#84 XYZ King O Charms Dancer - Yearling Filly - No Saled $700 bid
#90 DWL Lady's Foxy Girl - 4 year old mare - Drives - $2,300
#111 Bar Nothing Vince - Yearling C**t - $1,000
#139 Grace and Love - 5 year old Mare - Drives - $2,500

Most of these horses will need time and retraining for what non-Amish people would want to do with them, but at these prices it's worth investing the time and money into building a good partner on a budget. Especially for those that can't afford a push button finished horse, or aren't searching for specific bloodlines for breeding. I physically laid hands on every single one of these horses today, and they were all decently well put together, solid minded individuals. Nobody had obvious deformities or large scars.

For those of you interested in what's Foundation that will sell tomorrow, Day 2:
#154 Bar Nothing Van - Yearling C**t
#161 Sultannas Jupiter - 12 year old gelding - Rides and Drives
#169 RG Miss Prairie Sandreed - 15 year old mare - Rides and Drives. IN FOAL to Denver's Silverado for 2026 (100% Foundation Foal)
#186 Bar Nothing Travis - 3 year old gelding - Drives
#248 Bar Nothing Hallie - 16 year old mare - Rides and Drives. IN FOAL to Trickling Stream Dreamer for 2027
#252 River Valley Dutch Lilly - 21 year old mare - Rides and Drives. IN Foal (Unable to get stallions registered name)

It’s Buckeye Day!!! I look forward to this trip every year. While it might be raining and dreary outside, it won’t dampen my spirits today. I love going to see all the ponies. The anticipation in the air, pride from their breeders and handlers, the promise of new beginnings; there’s nothing else quite like it. If there’s anyone shopping from afar that wants pictures of a horse, I’d be happy to help with that, just send me a message!

Sometimes we get so caught up on chasing our next big dream that we forget to stop and appreciate how far we’ve come. I got that reminder today in a very unexpected way.

5 years ago today, I was hurriedly shoveling manure at a boarding facility where I was working in exchange for reduced housing for my first 3 Morgan mares, Sunny, Miss, and Lola. Sunny and Lola were heavily in foal and I was impatiently awaiting what would become our very first Kismet prefixed foals. I was grouchy because it was early morning, the barn was 45 mins in the opposite direction of work, St Patrick’s Day tends to make me sad, and was rethinking my life’s choices while shoveling.

Then my phone rang, pulling me from my huffy musings. I quickly glanced at the screen to see who would be calling so early. I didn’t recognize the number, but something told me to answer it anyway; telemarketers aren’t usually working at 7AM.

It was a breeder saying they’d seen a post I made about bloodlines and wanted to know if I wanted to buy a horse. They sent me pictures and as soon as I saw her face I was hooked; I had to have her. My mind instantly started whirling in 50 different directions, trying to figure out how I could make this work. The deal ended up falling apart and the mare was sold to someone else.

I was disappointed but decided it was for the best. I kept track of her, always thinking that one day I would like to have her. She made 3 stops before fate and a fantastic friend (thank you, Wendy LeGate) would finally bring her home to me.

So today, on the anniversary of the day that I first fell in love with this amazing mare, and the day that she officially becomes ours forever, I also look back at exactly how much we have grown and accomplished in the last 5 years. Our herd has grown from 3 to 14, everyone is on our own land now with room to expand, we have 2 foals due this year with 4 breedings planned for 2027, and are standing 2 amazing stallions.

I can’t believe I forgot, even for a second, how incredibly blessed we are and how far we’ve come.

Welcome home permanently, FCR Scarlett.

It’s that time of year! The Buckeye Morgan Horse Sale catalog came out today, and boy am I in trouble. I haven’t seen this many foundation bred horses at this sale in a LONG time! While I’m sad that there aren’t any stallions in the expo this year, I’m very excited to see the old blood resurgence. I guess that just means we need to get the boys ready to make an appearance next year!

There are quite a few really nice looking geldings listed too for those that are searching for their next riding horse.

I take my vacation days every year to go to this sale. I’m going to have to leave behind my trailer AND checkbook this year so that I’m not tempted to come home with anyone.

I posted my snippets below of the horses that caught my eye. Happy shopping!

This coming 4 year old stallion is the epitome of performance horse breeding. His pedigree is chocked full of champion and grand champion greats in Dressage, CDE, Eventing, and more. Names like DJJJ Ebony Gold, Kennebec Count, and Caduceus Denver.

Eclipse has the size, movement, and drive to not only follow in his predecessors footsteps, but to also exceed their accomplishments. A fantastic prospect, he currently lunges, ground drives, has worked under tack, and is ready for more intensive work. If you’re looking for a future competition horse and grand champion herd sire, this is the total package!

We are still buried under nearly a foot of snow in central Kentucky so I’m currently unable to get updated pictures and video, but will do so as soon as possible for seriously interested parties.

Serious inquiries are invited, and a PPE can be arranged at the buyer’s expense.

Currently considering offers at $1️⃣5️⃣,0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ . Terms or lease options available to approved homes.

Winter is coming, but we’re dreaming of spring!

We have decided to extend our stallion service promotion until December 31. Both stallions stud fees have been deeply discounted to help support the recovery effort for a group of neglected mares in rescue.

So whether you choose BDMR Battersea Eclipse as your next sporthorse sire, or Kismet Locomotion as the father of your cutting prospect extraordinaire, you pay just $500! (Mare care or collection / shipping fees not included)

To further sweeten the already fantastic deal, anyone that pays their contract in full at the time of submission is also eligible to purchase a breed-back contract for the SAME PRICE! That’s 2 foals for less than the cost of our normal stud fees.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and rest assured, once the boys hit the ring in the spring their value will just continue to increase.

For contract inquiries or further questions feel free to message the page.
