Fun Time In the Sun Time!!! 🌞 😎
🐾 Georgia summers are beautiful… but they can also be dangerous for our four-legged family members. ☀️❤️
As a mobile groomer, I spend my days driving through neighborhoods all across North Georgia, and I can’t tell you how many dogs I see being walked during the hottest part of the day. It always just makes my heart hurt.
♥️ A few things to remember: ♥️
🐾 If the pavement is too hot for the back of your hand for 7 seconds, it’s too hot for your dog’s paws.
💦 Bring cold water on every walk.
🌳 Choose early morning or evening walks whenever possible.
🚗 Never leave your pet in a parked vehicle… not even “just for a minute.”
⚠️ Excessive panting, drooling, weakness, bright red gums, vomiting, or stumbling can all be signs of heat stroke. Don’t wait. Get your dog somewhere cool and contact your veterinarian immediately.
The last photo in this post shows what burned paw pads can look like. It happens far more often than most people realize, and thankfully, it’s almost always preventable.
