We are so excited to be returning to Farmers Market+ At The Dole this season! We will host our booth once a month from June-October, bringing animal experts, ecofacts, stickers, and activities to market guests. We also bring a different live animal ambassador to each market, and the species is decided by the weather that day.

Congrats to Shelton the turtle on getting adopted! We don't get a lot of water turtle adoptions due to their long-lived and high-maintainence nature and their large size. We tend to get hundreds of surrender requests a year for water turtles, but every year we only see about 1-2 serious adopters for them. Shelton will be going to live in a big, beautiful custom enclosure and we are excited for her to get such an upgrade!

Welcoming Schnitzel, Spaetzle and Pumpernickel to Lost Woods! These 3 male guinea pigs were found on the side of the road and brought to our friends at McHenry County Animal Control & Adoption Center . They are understandably very scared and skittish but very adorable.

Don't dump pets! Don't let friends dump pets! Don't even let enemies dump pets! Thanks to our animal control friends for keeping them safe until we had a spot open up.

We just got back from the vet, picking up Avril from her spaycation and she is recovering great! Look at all those fantastic cocoa puffs 🫘 she can be adopted in a couple weeks when she is fully recovered.
Little Orphan Annie the rat got her little checkup and is also doing great. She is already pending adoption and has some nice new ratty sisters waiting at home for her!

Welcoming Van Morrisbun to Lost Woods, he is yet another stray pet rescued off the streets. Who is dumping all of these gorgeous rex rabbits?

He is so friendly, so sweet and perfect. He has a little cherry eye for us to troubleshoot with the vet but it doesnt stop him from being the most adventurous dude in town.

Remember kids, don't dump pets! It's not cool.
