Animal Rescue of Crosby County Not all homes should have a dog, but all dogs should have a home! ARCC was founded in January 2015 by a group of concerned and determined citizens.

This caring group of people came together from Lorenzo, Ralls, and Crosbyton with various backgrounds, personalities, and views, but all with the same common goal; to make a difference in the lives of the high number of discarded, neglected and unwanted pets in Crosby County. We are an all-volunteer program. We received our nonprofit 501(c)(3) status on April 28, 2015, and in early May 2015 we received a generous donation of land from friends of the rescue, Jim and Mary Parkhill. All positions held are volunteers that give their time and talents to promote our mission. As of April 2023, we have 4 volunteers caring for approximately 95 dogs. All stray and owner surrender intakes are held for the Texas mandated 72 hour surrender/stray hold before we provide any vetting (unless the dog has an emergency injury) or post the dog available for adoption. Stray intakes are held for an additional 7 days before they are posted available for adoption. Our adoption fee is $200 and covers the following;
*Heartworm/Tickborne Disease bloodwork
*Treatment and Medication if needed for Tickborne Disease
*Spay/Neuter
*Rabies vaccination
*DAPP vaccination (Distemper/Adenovirus/Parvovirus/Parainfluenza)
*Bordetella vaccination
*ProHeart6 or ProHeart12 Heartworm preventative vaccination
*Microchip

Group 1
Dixie • Izzy • Andy • Miss Mikey

📍 Scoggin Dickey Home for the Holidays
Scoggin Dickey Subaru, Lubbock
⏰ 10 AM – 3 PM

• Dixie, Red Heeler mix – Gets along with other male dogs but can be a bit bossy. Looking for a home that can handle a confident girl.
• Izzy, Pit mix – Needs to be the only dog. Izzy has lots of s***k and love to share! She wants your full attention and a loving home.
• Andy, Pit mix – Has lived with cats and gets along with other dogs. Easygoing and ready for a family.
• Miss Mikey, Catahoula mix – Does well with other male dogs when introduced properly. Sweet and waiting for the right match.

Group 2
Birdie • Truffle • Mia

📍 PetSmart on Marsha Sharp Freeway
⏰ 9 AM – 3 PM

• Birdie, small Pit mix – Needs to be the only dog. She’s looking for someone who can give her all the love. Birdie has lots of personality and is a fun little girl!
• Truffle, Mixed breed – Lived with another male dog. Full of energy and would thrive with an active family, couple, or individual who can keep up with her.
• Mia, Anatolian mix– A good girl who’s been around cats and rabbits without issue. Ready for a calm, loving home.

We’re building two new indoor/outdoor kennels right now, but even when they’re finished, we still won’t have enough room for everyone. Eight of our dogs will be forced to spend another winter outside.

These dogs don’t understand construction timelines or limited kennel space. They only know the nights are getting colder.

If you’ve been thinking about adopting, please come meet them this Saturday. One “yes” could mean a warm bed instead of another winter outside.

Yesterday we received a bag of Pedigree Dog Food and a bag of Purina Dog food delivered to our kennels from Amazon. Today we had a delivery of a gallon of bleach. If you sent these items, please let us know. We would love to send you a proper thank you. These items are so helpful! Thank you!

A huge thank you to Lucy and Norah, our two new volunteers today, along with Emerson and Maylee, all of whom helped feed, clean, and walk the dogs!

We didn't get any pictures, but we’re also so grateful to Nick and Sarah for their help on Saturday and Sunday and Avery who came last weekend.

We are so incredibly grateful for the help and can honestly see big improvements in some of our dogs personalities. Especially the dogs that need more love and attention and hands on care. ❤️🐾📣

We are incredibly grateful to Ray Cardamone for his very generous donation! His support is helping us purchase doggy doors and inside gates for our two new indoor/outdoor dog buildings, improvements that will make a real difference in the daily lives of the dogs in our care.

Yesterday we received two bags of Pedigree Dog food from Chewy's and today we received 6 bags of Purina Dog Chow, delivered to the kennels and two more bags of Purina delivered to my house. Thank you so much to the donors who have sent this food. It is such a huge help and we are so grateful! We ALWAYS need dog food. If you sent these, we would love to send you a proper thank you!

Huge Shoutout and thank you to new volunteer, Addy L. and volunteers Sarah, Maylee, Reese, and Nick for coming out this morning to help feed and clean and to walk dogs!! The support these young people are giving us and our dogs is just one of the biggest blessings and we couldn't be more thankful for them! We can truly see a difference in some of our dogs who need the extra love and attention.
