When your morning sip & see turns into a cut & come in. Enjoying the last of the dahlia season. Still beautiful here. Will be digging and selling some tubers and seeds in coming weeks. Dahlia blooms slowing down, savoring the beauties til frost. Has the frost found you yet?🌸

I rarely get a glimpse of a true golden hour. Between the rooftops and the power lines, for a few minutes it was glorious. I ran out and snapped some picks when I saw the sherbet sky reflecting off windows of the flower shed. It has been beautiful weather and even hit 80, but in mere weeks the weather will change. I am cleaning the plots, cutting down dahlias, saving seeds, clearing vines, and will have some Fall dahlia tubers and seeds available. 🌱Will make an announcement, but message if u have interest. Thanks

Heirloom dahlias are a thing. This one was introduced to the world in 1941. It took me a few yrs to find and really happy she's here. Bloomed well all season, perfect under 2" pompon blooms💜

I had this dahlia in a pretty shaded area last yr and didnt bloom.
This year, full sun and what a sweet surprise to see Roque Starburst again!
Such a huge, romantic bloom with the softest blush pink petals, just looking for a wedding bouquet to crash. Do you grow this one? I will have tubers of it for sale or trade.
Who else has had a flower surprise them like this? 💕

Hollyhill Peachy Keen.
An incurved cactus form dahlia.
The kind of flower that feels less like something grown from earth and more like something borrowed from the sky,

Are u growing this one??
🌸✨ A little dahlia show in the flower shed early this morning before sending this amazing AC Ben out into the world!
Just look at these FOUR blooms of AC Ben, each one absolutely gorg. 😍
Why am I obsessed with this variety?
🌸 Huge, jaw-dropping blooms that seem to appear by magic
🌸 A shorter, sturdy plant that's easy to manage
🌸 Perfect for the front of the garden where everyone can admire it
🌸 Cut & share = a gasp and the question...
"Wait... is that a REAL flower?"
Save this post so u remember to get this guy for your garden! 💕 It delivers beauty, impact, and blooms without demanding much space.

It's time to start tagging your dahlia plants if u r digging and storing for winter. I use this flagging tape from Menards and this garden pen I sell on my site...it is the best. IDing your plants before Mr Frost arrives and turns them brown is a good thing. Then u r ready to dig when it is time & know what ya got!
(Just 1 way of doing this)
A moment of sun this a.m. then p**f, haven't seen it since. Out early finishing up tagging this last plot beside the flower shed.

On this final morning of Summer, the air is crisp and the dahlias abound as we prepare to welcome Autumn. 🍂 At 7:05 PM tonight, the seasons officially change, and what a beautiful way to celebrate the arrival of fall!....
Gather your pals for National Girls Night Out and join us at the Lemont Farmers Market. I'll be bringing armfuls of fresh-cut dahlias, everlasting bouquets, handcrafted wreaths, one-of-a-kind dahlia greeting cards, and perhaps even the season's first centerpiece pumpkins... if nature and the day allow. 🎃✨
I'm also happy to accept orders for dahlias and fall décor for pickup at the market.
Here's to golden light, changing leaves, cherished friendships, and the enchanting transition from Summer's bloom to Autumn's embrace. Hope to see you there! 🍁🌻🧡
