Have we stated that kitten season needs to END and it is sooo hard on us rescues! The damage is done already from kittens having kittens and now we have to take the hit so for the love of whatever PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR animals!! Please!!! Meet the newest kittens and moms (sister wives and most likely same baby daddy) that will now be vetted, tested, spayed/neutered and checked out! Will be ready end of July if all goes well. As always PLEASE SHARE AND FOLLOW!!!

Piccolino went to school today.

Many of our families come from the Dominican Republic, where some cats are often seen living outdoors rather than as family pets inside the home. Because of this, some students were nervous around cats and unsure how to approach them safely.

We discussed how not all cats are scary and how understanding their body language can help us interact with them confidently and respectfully. Students learned the proper way to approach a cat: move slowly, stay calm, allow the cat to come to you, and always respect their space.

We also had an important conversation about rescue versus breeding. We talked about the many wonderful cats already waiting in shelters and rescues for loving homes and the importance of responsible pet ownership, including spaying and neutering.

It was great to see students step outside their comfort zones, ask questions, and gain a better understanding of our feline friends. Education and compassion are powerful tools in helping both animals and people.

Mrs. A is one of the most fabulous older ladies we have here approx 7 yrs old. Mrs. A has been with us for a while, but we wanted to make sure she decompressed after her whole life was changed. She is a diluted calico whose mom passed away, and the family asked us to take her in. She was alone for a few days, but thankfully someone found her and knew about Walker's Way Rescue. She is an independent woman looking for a calm, quiet home and does okay with other cats. Mrs. A's adoption fee is waived for the perfect home. And honestly, pictures do her no justice! We try not to use AI, as that gives out a false sense of what the animal is really like. She is sweet and beautiful.

This Saturday, we launch an exciting month of events at the pub. Caffe Itri gift cards will be accepted at half price for dine-in only, from Monday to Thursday throughout June. A beach accessory package raffle, benefiting Walkers Way Rescue, will start on Monday. There are still opportunities to participate in the June 9 craft class. Regrettably, the June 16 Messages from Heaven event is fully booked. Nevertheless, this evening will offer bottle and glassware etching. Don't miss National T-shirt Day at the pub on June 22. The Book Club, welcoming the public, will meet on June 23 to discuss Perfect Strangers. While Music Bingo on June 30 is sold out, it will feature public raffles and a silent auction in support of Walkers Way Rescue. More information is available on our Events page.

Guess what!!!!! A month ago, Lilo was hit by a car and surrendered to Central Falls Animal Shelter. Today, she is on her way to her forever home!! We learned about her while she was here and found out she was very puppy, loves other dogs, all-age people, and water 💦. Lilo was the puppy I needed to get a puppy for. I'm not going to lie; puppies are not my favorite, and I usually don't cry when they leave my home, but this one was a little special, and I shed some tears as I turned around and watched her drive away with her favorite bed and toys, but I know she's driving away to a great home with another puppy and two young kids that she can grow up with. Lilo's new mom and I had a lot of talks. We had a meet-and-greet. We took time to think about it. Another talk was about not giving up on her too early. Lilo is very, very smart but still a puppy, and people have to know that to make a good dog, they have to put a lot of work into it. Consistency, time, patience, training, exercise, and reality are essential! You adopted a puppy! I cringe when I adopt a puppy out because my reality is she may come back, but my gut is telling me otherwise! Happy life, Lilo!! I loved you first!

Another wonderful day. Maye found her forever home with a past adopter!! We love repeater families! What I loved most is they were so patient with this adoption, knowing we do everything that needs to be done to secure a happy, healthy kitten, even if that means waiting just a little longer!! ❤️ Happy life Maye!! Now we need to find your mama a home Anne Michael Maye!!
