Another reminder:

URGENT PET ALERT: DENNING SEASON IS HERE.

January through May is the highest-risk period for pets.

Coyotes aren’t just passing through right now.
They are:
• mating
• establishing dens
• raising pups
• defending territory aggressively

This is when attacks on small pets spike — even in familiar neighborhoods.

Complacency is the biggest danger.

Survival Steps

✅ Never Leave Small Pets Alone – Even fenced yards are not protection.
✅ Leash at Dawn & Dusk – These are peak activity hours.
✅ Avoid Known Dens – Coyotes defend pups intensely during this period.

Coyotes aren’t villains — they’re parents.
But safety requires awareness, not assumptions.

ALWAYS be aware…!

Your dog just went out the back door alone. You have 60 seconds before a coyote can strike.

RIGHT NOW: Coyote mating season (next 4-6 weeks). Males are territorial, aggressive, and hunting small pets.

What happens: Silent. Fast. Your pet is gone before you hear anything.

What to do TODAY:
→ NEVER let pets out alone (day or night)
→ Leash walks only (even in your yard)
→ Scan yard before opening door
→ Motion lights + air horn by door

Your dog trusts you to protect them. They can't protect themselves from a 40-pound predator.

Go outside WITH them. Every. Single. Time.

My little diabetic foster dog is in kidney disease now they are not failing so we’re trying with a little course of benazepril at night. This blood pressure regulator helps with kidney health. I’ve also lessened her protein so that her kidneys don’t have to do too much work for a while last urinalysis showed that there is some improvement with what we’re doing so I’m very happy with that and celebration. I gave her a bath. Just a quick one with Les Pooches de Noel shampoo, cream, rinse, and a very nice smelling light cologne so she is all set. Also did a little coat trim on her make her a little less shaggy 🤣😂🤣

Quite the rain yesterday, but today (Sunday) seems to be a cloudy/sunny mix, with no rain predicted. Dogs pretty much stayed indoors yesterday, and today they’re just going out sporadically to do whatever in the backyard. We need a little bit of the dry out anyway tomorrow is to be more rain. I sort of hope so cause I really do like the rain.

Coming in to the final approach to the holiday season! If it is for a couple of days or a week or two and you need somewhere to put your little fluffy dog, let me know. My rates are very reasonable; $35 per day, $45 for day and night.

They just stay in my home with my dogs as if they are my own dog, I don’t believe in taking your dog and throwing them into a crate unless you instruct me to do so for some sort of psychological or medical issue, but all dogs here are safe secure and in a nice private home.

Rearranged my Grooming situation in the garage to provide a little more room. I have made a small adjustment here and there since this video was taken but Grooming over there now is a bit roomier.

Seeing more of this as the years go on….. I got a call from a past client who I used to take care of her Yorkshire terrier who has very strange, coloring little girl, but so sweet. She called me yesterday in tears, and she and her husband are getting quite elderly and are no longer able to look after the little dog. The husband has cardiac care and other things to contend with. She has arthritis and back problems and stuff so they have had to give up their little dog.

I reached out to a rescue who has agreed to back me in taking care of her. I’ll foster her and she will be up for adoption through the rescue after she gets vet care.

When I was brushing her a little bit today she yipped every time I touched her ears, so I’m thinking possibly an ear infection and other stuff but I need to get her to the veterinarian for.

Otherwise she eats well. She’s not sick or she doesn’t have diarrhea, she was out around the backyard with the other dogs today. Totally chill.

The E collar is on because she has a little inflammation around her mouth and if she doesn’t have the cone on, she will scratch it stupid. So I want to get her into the vet get her examined and cared for and hopefully nothing major but I don’t think so.

She just had a little neglect, even though her mom would bathe her brush her take care of her. She can’t really do that either anymore and bless her baby heart, she doesn’t mind being back at my place. I did put a little anti-inflammatory therapy on her skin today because she has quite a few little red bald spots. 😥

Southern California Pomeranian rescue was out at my place having the adoption event out in my backyard so much fun and I actually have people who can come and enjoy my backyard and house.

I have my dogs out with them four of them and the Pomeranians up for adoption are just darn cute and very decent dogs. Also a couple of Doggie Daycare clients one is leaving tomorrow. The other one is here till the end of October and they are just too darn cute!
