Hello! We’ve had an uptick in the number of Sarcoptic mange cases in the last few weeks.
Sarcoptic mange (“Scabies” in humans) is transmitted largely from wild canids like coyotes and foxes to domestic dogs and people. These dogs are VERY ITCHY and nothing seems to help. OTC meds, Seresto collars and all OTC topical flea are not effective against Sarcops. Oral flea preventions are the most effective treatment and prevention. If your dog has been diagnosed with or you’re suspicious of Sarcops please treat your dog with an oral flea prevention and consult your family physician for your family’s treatments
