🎓💛 Calm Down Program Graduation! 🐾

Sometimes you get to watch a dog completely blossom. 🌱🐶

This pup came from a precarious situation carrying an incredible amount of stress. They were experiencing stress induced alopecia, adjusting to living in a home, and learning how to share that home with another dog. There was a lot for this nervous system to process.

And then something wonderful happened. They landed exactly where they needed to be. 💛

Through Jenn’s Dogs behavior modification, thoughtful management, enrichment, positive reinforcement, and force free dog training, this family focused on creating safety and predictability while giving this dog time to decompress.

Today, the hair is growing back. 🙌 The playful personality is OUT. 🎉 And that resident dog? Turns out they make a pretty fantastic friend. 🐕🐕

There is still recovery happening, but this dog is settling into home life beautifully and showing just how much personality was waiting underneath all that stress.

👃 Sometimes the best teamwork happens when we stop giving directions and start watching our dogs work.

This snapshot from Scent Work 2 at Jenn’s Dogs shows a team working together through a search. As scent work becomes more complex, guardians learn to recognize subtle body language, follow their dog’s information, and trust the incredible nose leading the way. 🐾

Scent work combines enrichment, confidence building, problem solving, emotional regulation, and connection into an activity dogs and their people can genuinely enjoy together. Our positive reinforcement and force free dog training approach gives dogs space to think, make choices, and experience success.

Labor Day Weekend Closure 🐾

Jenn’s Dogs will be closed in observance of Labor Day, giving our team a little time to rest, recharge, and enjoy the last stretch of summer. ☀️🐕

We hope you and your dogs get a chance to do the same! Take the sniffy walk, sleep in a little longer, find somewhere quiet to explore, or spend the afternoon doing absolutely nothing together. Sometimes downtime is exactly what everyone needs.

We’ll be back refreshed and ready for more training, learning, and happy dogs! 💛

🎓🏡 Level 1: Basic Manners Graduation! 🐾

Sometimes the best classroom is exactly where the dog feels safest. 💛

This country pup was newly rescued into their family and suddenly had a LOT of change to navigate. Urban life brought new sounds, movement, expectations, and experiences that were very different from the environment they knew.

Rather than adding the stress of coming into the studio, we brought dog training home. 🐶🌿

Through private Level 1: Basic Manners sessions with Jenn, this team worked on communication, confidence, and everyday skills while building a predictable relationship in a familiar environment. Positive reinforcement and force free dog training allowed this pup to learn without asking them to take on more than they were ready for.

Now this family has a stronger communication system and skills they can gradually take with them as their dog's world gets bigger. 🎉

Most Jenn’s Dogs private training takes place at our Cornelius studio, but Jenn does offer in home services on special occasions. If getting to the studio isn't the right fit for your dog, reach out to discuss your needs. 🐾

🧥 Getting dressed is a puppy life skill, too! 🐶✨

In this Level 0: Puppy Life Skills cue video, we’re working on husbandry skills and wearing equipment. Our puppy is practicing putting on a sweater, but the lesson is much bigger than looking adorable. 💛

Harnesses, jackets, life vests, recovery suits, cones, and other equipment may all become part of a dog’s life. Puppy training gives us an opportunity to introduce those experiences early through positive reinforcement, choice, and plenty of time to process.

We want puppies learning how it feels when something goes over their head, touches their body, or changes the way their fur and skin feel. Cooperative care and thoughtful socialization help make those experiences more predictable instead of waiting until equipment is suddenly necessary.

At Jenn’s Dogs in Cornelius, Level 0 combines enrichment, confidence building, dog social skills, husbandry, and force free dog training to help puppies build skills for real life. 🐾

At Jenn's Dogs, we spend a lot of time talking about communication, emotional regulation, and building trust. Canine massage is another wonderful way to support all three.

That's why we're excited to welcome Whitney from Revive Animal Massage back for another Pup Parent Massage Workshop!
