Planned litter for the spring of ‘27
Ember x Bruce
VC Outlanders Born to Run UPT1 NA1
From Bruce’s owner:
Bruce's pedigree and exemplary performance in both field trials and as a companion are perfect for those seeking both a top-notch hunting or competition dog and a loving family pet.
In the field, Bruce exhibits extraordinary endurance and range, navigating from 50-100 yards in the grouse woods to 300-500 yards in the more open terrains of ptarmigan and quail hills. His exceptional stamina is matched by his balanced, sound structure, which enables him to maintain his pace effortlessly over long distances and hours.
Bruce's coat is not only functional but also thick, and dense, earning high praise from judges and breed enthusiasts alike. This coat provides full belly coverage, allowing him to comfortably hunt in temperatures as low as 10 degrees Fahrenheit.
A testament to his intelligence and trainability, Bruce has shown a natural propensity for retrieving and excels in all tasks set before him. He achieved a maximum score of 112 in the NAVHDA Natural Ability test and similarly excelled in the Utility Preparatory Test (UPT) the following day. He also earned a NAVHDA Utility Prize 1 and passed the 2024 NAVHDA Invatational.
At home, Bruce is as delightful as he is in the field. Known for his calm demeanor in the duck blind, he is equally energetic and responsive when it’s time to work. His keen senses make him adept at finding game, such as recovering additional ducks that other hunters have missed or wounded, even under challenging conditions like deep snow.
Bruce’s natural abilities, coupled with his gentle, trainable nature, make him an ideal sire. His puppies are likely to inherit not only his hunting capabilities but also his temperament, making them excellent candidates for anyone seeking a versatile, capable, and companionable hunting dog. Bruce's puppies represent the ideal blend of performance, conformation, and companionship potential.
Glowing Ember of a Wildfire
Ember had a late start to her hunting career but proved herself quickly. In her first season she had pheasant, woodcock, and grouse shot over her. She also earned a spot guiding at our local bird farm where she demonstrates great control and patience with new hunters. Ember is a close working dog making her a joy to watch in the grouse woods. Ember has great stamina that can hunt extra if I need her to fill in. I do hope to put a title or two on her later in the year.
In the house Ember is everybody’s best friend. She loves to cuddle up on the couch with us and piles up with the other dogs and even cats. I have never seen any aggression out of her even allowing other dogs to take toys from her but still remains confident in the pack.
Ember had a previous litter that produced puppies with great prey drive and work ethic. The puppies are confident enough to range out to 300+yds but are cooperative enough to easily reign in. I am hoping for the same out of this pairing. If Ember stays on schedule I am hoping the breeding will take place in early February of ‘27 with go home at 8 weeks old. This litter will be located in Western PA.
