Our next hen rehoming event is coming up on May 23rd, and we’re currently looking for more adoptive homes for these lovely hens. 🐔

Each hen adopted is another hen we can collect from the commercial farm.

We’ll have collection points available in both Boyds, MD (Montgomery Co.) and Huntingtown, MD (Calvert Co.) on Saturday.

We know it’s Memorial Day weekend, so for those collecting from our Montgomery County site, there may be a little flexibility with collection timing that week.

These hens are endlessly charming, full of personality, and most deserving of a sweet retirement. ❤️✨

We just received a beautifully packaged chicken first aid kit generously donated by to keep on hand for our rescue hens. It's thoughtfully stocked with supplies to help treat minor injuries, wounds, and common poultry issues.

And as an added bonus, the package was covered in what may be the cutest chicken stickers we’ve ever seen. Truly a delight from start to finish. ✨

Many thanks to Misty at 💕

We’re so excited to share that our third rehoming day is coming up on May 23rd! If you have room in your flock for a few deserving girls, we’d love to hear from you — and please help us spread the word. We’ll collect and rehome as many hens as we can find loving homes for. ❤️

Thanks to this incredible community, 560 ex-commercial hens have already been rehomed through our first two events, and we’re so grateful for every adopter, volunteer, and supporter who has made that possible.

These girls are 18-month-old ISA Browns: sweet, curious, full of personality, and — for the most part — still laying beautifully.

We’re excited to share that our next hen rehoming is officially confirmed for May 2 in Boyds, MD. 💛

Applications are now open to adopt ex-commercial laying hens, offering them a second chapter as backyard pets.

The number of hens we can bring out of the commercial farm is directly shaped by the number of confirmed applications we receive. So if you’re considering adopting (or know someone who might be), please apply — and please share this post to help us reach more homes.

All 224 girls from our first rehoming are now settled into their new homes. 💛

It’s been a collective effort, and we’re so thankful to everyone who welcomed them in and made this possible.

We’re building a growing waitlist for our next rehoming, which we’re hoping will be in May (pending farm depopulation schedules). We’ll share more as soon as we have a confirmed date!

Our hens made it on the radio! 🐔📻

WTOP featured our rehoming this week, and how we're building a bridge between the commercial world and the animal welfare world for a three-way win.

Grateful for all the local support 🧡

First rehoming day and first look at outside world ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who made this possible. We brought 224 hens back to our farm, with 170 already settled into loving homes and most of the remaining 54 scheduled for pickup.

First taste of grass, first mealworms, and lots of happy chirping!

Hi everyone, we’re so excited to share that our first rehoming is officially confirmed for Saturday, March 28th!

Thanks to this incredible community, over 100 hens are already reserved—which means 100+ hens are getting a second chance at life.

We also have another ~90 hens we can remove from the depopulation pipeline if we’re able to find homes for them.

If your coop and run are ready, and you have space for 3+ hens, we would love to hear from you. 💛

📍 Adoption location: Boyds, MD
