🐾 We're proud to work with Animal SOS to help make spay and neuter services more accessible to our community! ❤️ Check out their post for more information about available programs and low-cost options.

Spaying and neutering is one of the simplest things we can do to help our pets live healthier lives. It can prevent serious infections, reduce the risk of certain cancers, eliminate the health risks that come with pregnancy and birth, and help cut down on roaming and other behaviors that can put pets in danger.

And while the health benefits are a huge reason we care so much about this, every surgery also means one less accidental litter adding to the number of animals already needing homes in our community.

We want people to have more healthy years with the pets they love, and we want fewer animals to ever need rescuing in the first place. Spaying and neutering helps do both at once.

**While our programs have recently been limited to Columbus/Muscogee County residents, we still want to help our neighbors however we can! We will continue to offer low-cost spay/neuter surgeries for just $100 to residents of any county, as well as Columbus/Muscogee County residents who have already reached the two-pet limit offered through our free programs. If you need it, take advantage of it. Your pets will thank you!

🦟 Heartworm prevention is so much more than an annual expense. Treating heartworm disease can be costly and difficult, and even after treatment, the damage caused by heartworms can be permanent. Prevention is always the best protection for your pet! ❤️🐶

Have you heard? An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

FREE really does mean FREE!

If you’re a Muscogee County resident with a dog or cat who still needs to be spayed or neutered, Animal SOS may be able to help cover the surgery cost. Spaying and neutering protects your pet’s health and helps reduce the number of animals entering our local shelter.

Don’t miss out! Appointment availability is limited each month.

🦟 Did you know that heartworm disease is transmitted by mosquitoes?
Heartworm disease is a serious condition caused by parasites that live in the heart, lungs, and blood vessels of infected animals. Over time, it can cause severe and potentially permanent damage and can even be fatal. Dogs are the preferred hosts, but cats can get heartworms, too! 🐈
The scary part? You may not even know your pet is infected until significant damage has already occurred.
The good news is that heartworm disease is preventable! Regular heartworm testing and consistent prevention are the best ways to protect your pet from this serious disease.
If your pet isn't already on heartworm prevention, give us a call at 706-221-7600 to learn more. ❤️🐕
