Living out my creative dreams recreating the images of adorable pets in yarn. 🧶 It took on a life of its own since then.

Hi everyone, I’m Angel a crochet designer living out my creative dreams recreating the images of adorable dogs and cats in yarn. My husband and I are empty nesters living in Columbus, Ohio. We have raised 3 amazing sons and I now have time to put my crafty tendencies to work. My realistic dog and cat cup cozy series all started after making a special gift for my parents. We are a family of true do

g lovers and anything having to do with our pets delights us. So, I decided to crochet a cozy that resembled their Maltese named Mickey. Their reaction upon opening the handmade gift was so special, my mom even gave it a kiss! Everybody wanted to see their favorite breed in cozy form. My process is to look at a photo of the breed then find the perfect yarn and after a lot of trial and error to get the unique features and proportions correct I develop the design. Fellow crocheters begged me to write my patterns, so they could make them too. There was a big learning curve there, but I did a deep dive into learning how to write, test and release crochet patterns. It is now my favorite thing to do! I currently have over 80 designs full of tail wag-worthy cuteness, but I am not finished yet. There are a lot more breeds on my to-do list! If you would like to know more about me or ask any questions feel free to send me a message! I love to hear from my fans!

I'm back for Day 61 of my A–Z Dog Cozy Breed Share and fun facts! Today’s star is the Miniature Pinscher!

The breed was actually created by a combination of the German Pinscher, Italian Greyhound, and Dachshund in Germany over 200 years ago! Traditionally, many people mistake them for "Mini Dobermans," but they are actually a much older breed! They were originally bred to be fearless "ratters" in barns, and they still carry that bold, bossy attitude today. They are living proof that you don't need to be big to be the king of the castle (or the king of the coffee cup!)

If you're a crocheter who loves a design that captures a softer, more soulful expression, I hope this handsome fellow "flops" right into your heart today! 💖

I'm back for Day 60 of my A–Z Dog Cozy Breed Share and fun facts! Today’s star is the Maltese!

The breed was actually created by a culture of ancient Mediterranean people on the island of Malta over 2,800 years ago! Traditionally known as the "Ye Ancient Dogge of Malta," these little beauties have been the darlings of royalty from the Greeks to the Romans. In fact, they were so cherished that the Greeks even built tombs for them! They were often called "Comforter Dogs" because it was traditionally believed they had medicinal powers and could cure people of their ailments just by snuggling. While we know they aren't doctors, they certainly do have a way of healing the heart!

I'm back for Day 59 of my A–Z Dog Cozy Breed Share and fun facts! Today’s star is the Malamute!

The breed was actually created by a nomadic Inuit tribe known as the Mahlemut people in northwestern Alaska! Traditionally, these dogs weren't built for the high-speed racing like their Husky cousins; they were the "heavy haulers" of the Arctic. They were bred for incredible strength and endurance to pull massive freight sleds over the frozen tundra. Because they were so vital to the tribe's survival, they were treated as part of the family—a tradition of loyalty and hard work that hasn't changed a bit!

I'm back for Day 58 of my A–Z Dog Cozy Breed Share and fun facts! Today’s star is the Lurcher!

The breed was actually created by a resourceful group of commoners and poachers in Great Britain and Ireland! Traditionally, back in the Middle Ages, there were strict laws preventing anyone but the nobility from owning purebred Greyhounds. Not to be outdone, the common folk cleverly crossed sighthounds with working breeds like Collies or Terriers. The result was a dog with the lightning speed of a Greyhound but the "street smarts" and ruggedness of a working dog. They are a wonderful reminder that a little bit of "traditional" ingenuity can lead to something truly special!

I'm back for Day 57 of my A–Z Dog Cozy Breed Share and fun facts! Today’s star is the Black Labrador!

The breed was actually created by fishermen in Newfoundland, Canada, during the 1700s! Traditionally, these "St. John’s Water Dogs" were bred to be the ultimate workmates, jumping into the icy Atlantic to help haul in nets, ropes, and even catch fish that escaped the hooks. They were later brought to England, where they were refined into the loyal, fetch-obsessed companions we know today. Whether they are working in the field or just "working" on getting a treat from the kitchen counter, they carry a heart of gold beneath that beautiful dark coat!

I'm back for Day 56 of my A–Z Dog Cozy Breed Share and fun facts! Today’s star is the Labradoodle!

The breed was actually created by a breeding manager for the Royal Guide Dogs Association of Australia named Wally Conron in 1989!

Traditionally, Labradors were the gold standard for guide work, but when a vision-impaired woman in Hawaii needed a dog that wouldn't trigger her husband's allergies, Wally had the clever idea to cross a Labrador Retriever with a Standard Poodle. While they might be more "shaggy" than "sleek," these pups have a majestic heart for service and a personality that's as warm as the coffee inside this cozy! They’ve quickly become a modern family tradition, blending the best of two wonderful worlds.

I'm back for Day 55 of my A–Z Dog Cozy Breed Share and fun facts! Today’s star is the Jack Russell Terrier!

The breed was actually created by a clergyman named Reverend John "Jack" Russell in the early 19th century! Traditionally, the Parson wanted a brave, athletic terrier that could keep pace with his hounds during a fox hunt but was small enough to bolt a fox from its underground den without harming it. These "Jack of all trades" dogs are famous for their intelligence and their incredible vertical leap. They truly are the ultimate example of a big, bold spirit packed into a compact, sturdy frame!

I'm back for Day 52 of my A–Z Dog Cozy Breed Share and fun facts! Today’s star is the Siberian Husky!

The breed was actually created by a nomadic tribe in Northern Asia called the Chukchi people! Traditionally, these incredible dogs were bred to be the ultimate endurance athletes, capable of pulling light loads over vast distances in freezing temperatures. But more importantly, the Chukchi treated them as family; they often slept inside the tents to keep the children warm during the bitter Siberian nights. It’s that traditional bond of loyalty and warmth that makes them such soulful companions today. They might be famous for their "talking," but they speak mostly with their hearts!

I'm back for Day 51 of my A–Z Dog Cozy Breed Share and fun facts! Today’s star is the Havanese!

The breed was actually created by crossing small, long-haired dogs brought to Cuba by Spanish settlers in the 1700s! Traditionally, these charming companions were the pampered favorites of the Cuban aristocracy and sugar barons. They were once known as the "Blanquito de la Habana" (Little White Dog of Havana) because of their snowy, silky coats. While they have a history of lounging in grand mansions, they have a sturdy spirit that would likely enjoy keeping pace on one of your daily walks—provided there are plenty of snuggles afterward!

I'm back for Day 54 of my A–Z Dog Cozy Breed Share and fun facts! Today’s star is the Italian Greyhound!

The breed was actually created by a love for small, elegant companions in the Mediterranean region over 2,000 years ago! Traditionally, these "Iggies" were the darlings of the Renaissance, often appearing in portraits alongside Italian nobility and royalty. While they look delicate, they carry the same lightning-fast spirit as their larger cousins, just in a more lap-sized package. They are the ultimate proof that good things (and fast things!) come in small, sleek, crocheted bundles!
