MIKE KUHN RETIRES AFTER 6 DECADES OF MIXING FEED
The team at ASE Feed & Supply extends its deepest gratitude to Mike Kuhn for his decades of services and wishes him a well-earned retirement filled with rest, family, and the satisfaction of a job exceptionally well done.
Kuhn, who began mixing feed for Madison Landmark in the early 1960’s, is retiring after more than 6.5 decades of dedicated service to local farmers, hobbyists, and livestock owners throughout central Ohio. Now in his early 80s, Kuhn leaves behind not just a job- but a legacy of hard work, reliability, and experience that defined the backbone of a business.
For 44 years Kuhn was a constant presence at ASE. Long before sunrise he could be found measuring rations, operating the mixers, and ensuring that every batch of feed met the high standards customers had come to expect. Mixing feed is no small task; it is physically demanding, labor-intensive work requiring precision, strength and consistency. Kuhn performed it day in and day out with quiet determination.
“Mike represents a generation that takes pride in doing the job right,” said those close to the operation. “He never cut corners. He showed up, worked hard, and made sure customers were taken care of.”
Beyond the physical demands of the job, Kuhn’s dedication stands out most. Continuing in such a strenuous role into his early 80s is a testament to both his work ethic and his character. In an era when longevity is increasingly rare, Kuhn’s 44- year tenure speaks volumes.
Customers and coworkers alike describe him as dependable, humble, and hardworking- someone who didn’t seek recognition but certainly earned it.
As he steps into retirement, Kuhn leaves behind more than thousands of tons of carefully mixed feed. He leaves behind friendships, mentorship, and an example of what commitment truly looks like.
If you would like to extend your personal congratulations, Mike will be at ASE's Customer Appreciation Day on April 25 at 10 a.m.
