I want to shine a light on something sneaky in many homes that could be quietly sabotaging your pet's health: chlorine in tap water.

Chlorine is grouped with bleach chemicals—it's an oxidizing agent that doesn't just disinfect; it can wreck key nutrients your pet needs. Specifically, it converts part of the natural vitamin E complex into a compound called alloxan, which is known to destroy the Islets of Langerhans in the pancreas (the cells responsible for producing insulin). That disruption can contribute to blood sugar issues and diabetes-like problems over time.

Chlorine also neutralizes vitamin C, kills off beneficial probiotics, degrades pepsin (key for protein digestion), and throws the gut microbiome out of balance. No wonder pets on good whole-food supplements (like Standard Process) sometimes don't see the full turnaround we expect—chlorinated water could be undoing a lot of that good work.
