Meet Athena

Athena is home — and she always will be. 🐺

Athena is a stunning wolfdog who came to us very shy and cautious. She wasn’t sure about people at first, and it took some time and a lot of patience for her to feel comfortable. After about six months, she finally let us pet her — a big milestone for a special girl like her.

She still likes to move at her own pace, and that’s okay. Athena has taught us that trust is something earned slowly, and every small step is worth celebrating.

Because of her unique needs and gentle nature, Athena is one of our forever dogs. She’s not up for adoption — she’s exactly where she’s meant to be, living a peaceful life surrounded by people who understand her. This is one of the rare moments she trusting and enjoying life.

We’re honored to be her safe place. And with your donations we can continue he life long care 💛

🐺 Wolfdog Pup Up for Adoption – Experienced Homes Only

We’re looking for a qualified, experienced home for a stunning young wolfdog with confirmed wolf DNA. Due to his unique needs and lineage, this pup will only be adopted out after thorough background checks and careful screening.

This is not a typical adoption. Reaper is a high-content wolfdog, and he’ll require someone with previous wolfdog or primitive breed experience — someone who understands the importance of structure, trust-building, and secure containment.

But let us tell you about the real Reaper:

Reaper was bottle-fed and raised by hand. From the very beginning, he was the pup that wanted to be held, snuggled, and loved. While the rest of the litter squirmed and squeaked, Reaper was content being in your arms, soaking in every second of affection.

Now that he’s bigger? He hasn’t forgotten that.
Only now, he comes barreling in with big paws and clumsy love, thinking he’s still lap-sized. He’s all heart, full of bounce, and will play until he quite literally drops for a nap. Catch him mid-zoomie, and you might just get a surprise kiss in passing.

He’s cautious at first, like most wolfdog pups — everything new can be a little scary. But once he bonds with you, he’s yours completely. Loyal, affectionate, goofy, and full of potential.

Reaper is a special pup who needs a special person. If you have experience, the right setup, and a heart ready for a wild companion with a gentle soul — he’s ready to meet you.

💔 This isn’t just about rescue — it’s about what happens after I’m gone.

Rescue has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. From saving baby birds and rabbits as a kid to picking up stray dogs and caring for the forgotten ones as an adult — it’s just who I am. I’ve always kept a leash and treats in the car, just in case. I’ve even stopped traffic to move turtles off the road, because every life matters to me — no matter how small.

For the last 7 years, I’ve run a small rescue entirely out of my own pocket. In that time, I’ve rescued and rehomed over 80 dogs. Each one was hard to say goodbye to — they had become part of my heart. But I let them go because they were ready… and now they’re happy, safe, and thriving with their new families.

And here’s the part that means the world to me: I still keep in touch with most of those families. We share updates, photos, stories — because those dogs will always be part of my family, no matter where they live.

Some animals found homes quickly. Others came to me broken, scared, or shut down. I’ve spent months — even years — helping them learn to trust again. Some may never be ready to leave. And that’s okay. They’ll stay here. They’re already home.

I’m a retired nurse living with end-stage renal failure. Most days, I’m lucky just to walk through a store. But I still show up for these animals — every single day — because they depend on me, and I won’t let them down.

Now, I carry a new kind of worry:
What happens to them when I’m gone?

That’s why I’m starting a nonprofit — not for me, but for them. To make sure every animal I’ve ever rescued — and every one still waiting — will always have love, safety, and a forever home. Not just today… but for the rest of their lives.

I may be reaching the end of my road, but with your help, their journey can keep going.

Meet Sophia 💕

Sophia is one of the sweet pups from the litter who’s still searching for her forever home. She’s the biggest love bug of them all — no matter what she’s doing, she’ll stop just to smother you with kisses.

She’s up for anything — walks in the woods, beach days, car rides, cozying on the sofa, or even joining you for dinner. Sophia is always ready to be by your side. She’s one of those dogs you fall in love with instantly… and if I could, I’d keep her myself.

She’s not just a good girl — she’s the best girl.

Meet Fable – The Great Escape Artist with a Whole Lot of Love 🐾

Fable is one of our long-running cases — a dog with a big heart, fast feet, and a bit of a wild streak.

His journey began when he escaped his previous home, got hit by a car, and broke his leg. He was minutes from being euthanized, but thanks to an amazing network of helpers, he was transported to us just in time. We treated his injury, helped him heal, and eventually found what we thought was his forever home.

But five months later, the pound called — Fable had been picked up again. This time, his adopter didn’t want him back.

Fable is fast — we mean really fast. He’ll shoot out an open door like a rocket, and if you’re not watching, he’s halfway down the block before you realize it. It seems like we’re the only ones who ever went out looking for him — and that’s not okay.

Now that he’s back with us, we’re looking for a very special adopter who understands this lovable free spirit. Fable is happy, affectionate, great with dogs and cats, loves car rides, and will either play until he drops or snuggle up on the sofa for a good nap.

But be warned — this boy can jump. He needs a secure 8-foot fence with proper dog guards, or he’ll flash that charming smile, give you a kiss, and launch himself right over it.

Fable deserves a home that’s not just safe — but one that will never stop looking for him if he runs, and ideally, one where he won’t have to.

Meet Doobie – The Loyal Protector with a Heart of Gold 🐾

Doobie first came into our lives in a surprising way — he was one of the five dogs chasing Sugar when we found her. But unlike the others, he wasn’t there to harm her — he was protecting her. Once Sugar stayed, Doobie never left her side.

We don’t know much about his past, but we can guess it wasn’t easy. He came to us with patches of missing fur, likely the result of someone pouring hot grease on him. Despite that cruelty, Doobie never lost his spirit. We treated his wounds, and today he’s fully healed and thriving.

Doobie is incredibly intelligent — he picks up commands quickly and is deeply loyal to his people. He’ll guard you without hesitation, standing between you and a stranger until he knows you’re comfortable. Once he sees you trust someone, he warms up and loves them just as much.

He’s a total couch potato at heart — happiest when curled up on the sofa, watching to see why you left the room without him. While he’s not a fan of male dogs and can be slow to trust some females, he has a surprising soft spot: he adores cats. Once he realizes they aren’t a threat, he’ll sleep beside them and even groom them like family.

Doobie is a survivor, a protector, and a deeply affectionate soul once you’re part of his circle. He’s not just looking for a home — he’s looking for someone to guard and love for life. I think he would do amazing with a VET or someone with like PTSD

Sugar came to us in a moment of chaos. One day while sitting outside, we saw her — a husky girl in heat, being chased and harassed by five large dogs. She was scared, overwhelmed, and clearly in need of help. We stepped in, and she’s been safe with us ever since.

Now that she’s had time to decompress, we’ve gotten to know the real Sugar — and she’s exactly what her name promises. This girl is all husky: full of energy, personality, and love. She’s equally happy going on walks or snuggling up in bed for a nap.

Sugar seems to do well with other dogs, and we haven’t seen any issues in playgroups. Cats, however, are a different story. She gets very interested — and while we’re not sure if it’s play or prey drive, we haven’t risked it. A cat-free home would be best.

She’s gorgeous, goofy, and absolutely full of life. If we weren’t a rescue, she’d already be curled up on our couch forever. But instead, we’re looking for the perfect home where she can shine the way she deserves.
