Our newest intakes..
Mae and Junie were brought in almost a month ago. Junie was almost 30 years old and in horrible condition. Her eye or lack thereof was infected and probably cancerous, and her body was just too emaciated and frail. She spent two weeks with us before her body gave out and she left us to run free in the grassy pastures of horsie heaven. She left behind her daughter, Mae, who is approximately 15 years old and has chronic laminitis. Each and every step she takes is painful. Despite her pain she remains as sweet as can be. .
We brought in another new rescue as a friend for our lonely Mae. We originally named her Rue until we learned she was turned into the k!ll pen straight off the Amish farm where she spent her entire life there. Her name was Freckles and she knows her name well. So we will of course keep her name. Freckles is a senior mare, 20+. She used to be ridden, and driven by the Amish children. She is also an absolute sweetheart. .
Welcome girls!! 🩷🩷
