🍁💰🐾 PECANS FOR PUPS 🍁💰🐾
LOCAL PECANS. LOCAL RESCUE. LOTS OF LOVE.

Coleman Canine Collective’s annual Pecans for Pups is back! 🥧

Each year, with my two hands and a manual cracker I gather, crack, shell, and bag Coleman pecans to raise 💰 for CCC's foster crew. Each bag represents hours of hands-on work, love, and support for the Rescue's animals.

Whether you’re a holiday baker, need a thoughtful gift, or simply want to stock up for snacking, your purchase makes a difference.

Bigger = Better
Thin / Paper Shells are best
Big Nuts + Thin Shells maximize fundraising

Here’s how you can help:
🥧 PREORDER PECANS: Message CCC to get on the preorder list!
🌳 HELP GATHER: Help pick up pecans - extra hands make a big difference.
🤲 HELP CRACK & SHELL: Turning gathered pecans into bags ready to sell takes time! Help with cracking and shelling is greatly appreciated.
💥 DONATE PECANS: Donate your extra pecans to CCC.

You don’t have to do every step to make a difference. Pick up a few, shell a batch, donate your harvest, &/or order a bag—it all helps.

📩 Message CCC to preorder, volunteer, or arrange a pecan donation.
Please share this post to reach more pecan lovers, generous neighbors, and willing hands!

🐾 RESCUE REALITY: Getting Safe Is Just the Beginning

Last week covered the difference between a rescue and a shelter. This week, let’s talk a little about what happens after an animal enters rescue.

🩺 Getting healthy
All animals need vet exams, vaccinations, heart worm tests and parasite treatment. Most need to be spayed or neutered and some need care for an illness or injury. Some of their needs are obvious, some become apparent over time.

🏡 Feeling safe
Being safe and feeling safe are different things. A dog may need quiet, routine, patience, and space before feeling comfortable enough to rest, play, or seek affection. There is no deadline for learning to trust.

🐕 Getting to know the individual
How does this dog respond to human touch? Being alone? Other animals? What are their stressors, triggers, and what helps that animal? Those answers take time, observation, instinct, and sometimes trial & error.

🧺 Providing daily care
Meals, laundry, cleanup, exercise, medication, appointments, and record keeping continue every day. That care happens whether an adoption takes weeks or months.

💙 Finding the right home
A n inquiry is a starting point. When considering a possible furever home I look at the animal’s needs, the household, other pets, and what the adopter can realistically manage.

At Coleman Canine Collective, taking an animal into care means committing to the work that follows. Donations, dependable volunteers, and Freedom Foster Families help make that ongoing care possible.

The first safe night matters and so does every day after it.

Sooooo, Coleman Canine Collective has been so busy I totally missed this.

Due to a strong dislike for water Chaka was a bit much for me to wrangle on my own. That's when the big guns were called upon and Alex at Hair Of The Dog Groomery did not disappoint!

Chaka got a good scrub in a calm and safe enviroment, and her fur was completely transformed by this bath. Days later and she is still the softest, sleekest, and smoothest to the touch, if you have seen her lately you know. 🐩

Coleman Canine Collective brought the one and only ✨Chaka✨ in for a bath today and she left as an official Coleman BLUECAT! 💙🐾

Dogs are the most important thing in my world and I’m so grateful that I’m able to help them feel their absolute best 🫶🏻🐾

🎉 COLEMAN, YOU HELPED MAKE CCC HISTORY! 🐾

This past Saturday Coleman Canine Collective at Fiesta de la Paloma, was WOW in the best way!
Coleman Canine Collective had its most successful single-day event fundraiser EVER X2 💥💰📣
Can you all even believe it - $1,027!!!

I am excited. I am grateful. And, yes - still doing a happy dance! 🫶🏻

Everyone who visited, shopped, donated, shared encouraging words, &/or showed off your furry babies: THANK YOU. Thank you to Coleman County Chamber of Commerce, their employees and volunteers, and everyone who helped make Fiesta possible.

A few special thanks:
Amanda Lee, this lady has fostered for CCC, and Saturday she came to help by by supporting the booth, bringing foster dog Chaka out, purchasing, and donating/helping sell the remaining baked goods!
Clara brought CCC alumni Fluffy, the Pyrador, and her sister Rubia. Seeing a previous foster pup thriving with their furever family is the most amazing feeling. Clara purchased a few items, donated, and won the awesome donated raffle basket!
Amanda Gayle Brandon Ripple, last but certainly not least - this wonderful lady is Frances' aunt. She brought boxes and boxes of baked goods, pecans, and homemade apple butter. Amanda also helped at the booth, donated, purchased, and made the amazing raffle basket!

Every purchase and donation helps provide care for animals in need. Seeing all of you show up for the animals means so much. You helped make this a day worth celebrating—and your support will keep making a difference long after the booth came down.

Coleman Canine Collective has been so busy lately the social media has been getting neglected.

While I work to get it together don’t forget these beautiful babies are still looking for their furever families.

Charlie - yes, that Charlie! Is a ~1yo, neutered, fully vaccinated, big baby in a fur costume. He is gentle, loving, happy go lucky, and doesn’t even chase outside cats!

Panda - 2.5yo, female, fully vaccinated, spay appt Fri, Oct 16. She is a lovely petite girl, 5lbs, who will make someone a wonderful companion.

Bam - one of panda‘s kittens, date of birth June 15, 2026, neuter date October 16, 2026, fully vaccinated. This boy is a unicorn kitten in that he is the most chill and doesn’t care where you’re going or what you’re doing as long as he gets to go along.

Boo - the second of Panda’s kittens, date of birth June 15, 2026, spay date October 16, 2026, fully vaccinated. This little tabby is so sweet, funny, silly, and she loves to be loved on.

Coleman Canine Collective wants to say a huge thanks to everyone who came out yesterday & supported the Rescue. Nothing CC does would be possible without the support of all of you. From the bottom of all the furry little hearts, thank you!
