Waffles was neutered yesterday, AND ADOPTED!!!

The kids were so excited to make him officially theirs, and Waffles was just ready for a nap! 🤣

We are so glad Waffles landed right where he belonged from Day 1 and wish him many years of happiness!

Well sometimes we take a dog into rescue hoping to improve their medical condition, while not knowing the true extent of that problem.

Sitka is in a lot of pain and despite trying different medications for his ear infections, they are not going away. He had a Culture and Sensitivity Test completed yesterday, which detects the presence of bacteria or fungi, and identifies which specific medicine will best treat the infection. It will take about a week before we find out the results, but he was prescribed pain medication in the meantime.

Once that was done, Sitka also had his ears flushed under sedation. The vet was then able to assess his ear drums, and determined that both are ruptured, most likely from chronic untreated ear infections.

If the future medication does not heal him, Sitka will need a Total Ear Canal Ablation, which is a surgical procedure that removes the entire diseased ear canal and middle ear to permanently eliminate chronic, intractable ear infections and pain. This would also cause Sitka to go deaf, and the cost is approximately $6,000 per ear!

Sitka also has dry eye and will need an ointment that costs $90 per month for the rest of his life to prevent permanent eye damage and infections.

We are a rescue that does not give up and will do what it takes to make a dog feel better, but we need your help! Yesterday’s appointment was $800, and if we need to move forward with surgery, we will not have enough money.

If you have it in your heart to help free this sweet boy from pain, you can make a donation at PayPal.me/pawsomepupspersevere or https://venmo.com/u/Dog-House-Adoptions

We appreciate your support more than you know! And most definitely Sitka does!

Thank you to his Foster Mom for bringing him to the vet and continuing to help Sitka get better!

This happy, funny loving girl is still looking for her forever family! She is such a great dog and anyone would be extremely lucky to have her!

Lacey is approximately 2 years old and weighs 55lbs. She is vaccinated, spayed, housebroken, and crate trained, but has not been destructive when left alone. Lacey has loved everyone she has met, including children.

Lacey has been introduced to multiple dogs and does best with those that are more submissive. She has not been tested with cats.

Lacey does well in the car, and loves to go for walks, play, and cuddle with her people. Lacey is located in Burnt Hills, NY.

If you would like to adopt Lacey, please contact us for an application! Thank you!

Waffles had his Wellness Exam yesterday! He weighed 56lbs and they estimated that he is 3 years old. All of his bloodwork came back normal so his neuter surgery was scheduled for next Monday. This dog is so amazing he was practically falling asleep during his blood draw 🤣
