I get asked about my hanging sign all the time, so here’s the reality.
The sign only sticks out about 12 inches from the tent leg. Most of the time my tent weights are directly underneath it, so if you’re walking close enough to hit the sign, you’re probably hitting the weights too.
It’s also mounted well above child height, and in six years of markets I’ve never had a single adult run into it. Is it possible? Sure. Anything is possible. Is it likely? Not really.
If you’re a vendor and concerned about it, you can always place a display, product rack, plant, table corner, or even your weights underneath it to intentionally take up that space and naturally guide foot traffic around it.
And before anyone takes this video personally, please don’t 😂 This is all in good fun. I just get this question constantly, so I figured I’d finally show what it actually looks like in person.
At the end of the day, it’s one of those things that looks much farther out in photos and videos than it actually is. 🙂
