I picked up Primal Ground Turkey, and I love that it includes organ meat mixed right in. 🙌

Organ meats are some of the most nutrient-dense foods you can eat. Depending on the organs included, they can naturally provide nutrients like:

🥥🖤 WAIT… YOUR ACTIVATED CHARCOAL CAN COME FROM COCONUTS?!

Yep! The activated charcoal I use is made from coconut shells—and the process behind this ingredient is pretty fascinating. 👇

🥥 HOW IS IT MADE?

After the coconut meat and water are removed, the hard shells can be turned into charcoal.

🔥 The shells are heated at very high temps with little oxygen.

💨 The charcoal then goes through an “activation” process, typically using steam or other controlled methods at high temps.

🔬 Activation creates an enormous network of microscopic pores throughout the charcoal.

And THAT is what makes activated charcoal different from regular charcoal!

🖤 WHY IS IT CALLED “ACTIVATED”?

It isn’t because something has been added to make it “active.”

Activation dramatically increases the charcoal’s surface area and porosity, giving substances lots of tiny surfaces to stick to through a process called adsorption.

Yes—ADsorption, not absorption! 🤯

🧲 Absorption = something is taken INTO a material.
🧲 Adsorption = molecules stick TO a surface.

🌿 WHY USE IT IN SKINCARE?

🖤 Helps adsorb oils and impurities from the skin’s surface.

🖤 Makes a great addition to cleansing products and masks designed for oily-feeling skin.

🖤 Provides that naturally deep BLACK color—no artificial black dye needed.

🖤 Coconut shells are a useful source material because they’re naturally hard, carbon-rich and can produce highly porous activated carbon.

🤯 ANOTHER COOL FACT

Just one gram of activated carbon can have a surface area measuring hundreds or even more than 1,000 square meters, depending on how it’s manufactured.

That microscopic structure is incredible!
